I've got a date

I have got my date.  August 20th.  I have to admit I am a little disappointed that it is not sooner.  However, I will take what I am given.  To look at the good side there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  I can work at losing more weight to make the surgery easier on myself as well as Dr. Petrick.  One of the things I do need to do is strengthen my lungs.  Forty years of smoking has them in pretty bad shape.  I have been smoke free for seven months and that has helped but I need to concentrate on deep breathing and really working them.  I think I will be spending a lot of time outside this summer.  I live in the country and it's about time I start walking these back roads (lots of hills.)  That will get the old lungs pumping.  Thanks for being here for me.

Congrats on the date Kathy!! You have a great attitude about when the surgery date is scheduled - you can only "practice" getting healthier between now and then! You'll be surprised how fast it goes. Take this time to live life like a post-op and best of luck with getting the lungs up to par!

Congratulations!  You'll be surprised how quickly the time flies.  Your attitude is wonderful - you're right in that the more work you can do now in getting your lungs in shape, as well as walking and establishing an exercise routine, the better and easier your recovery will be.

Good luck!

Congratulations on getting your date!! I know it seems far away but it will be here before you know it. And you've got a fantastic attitude about getting healthier for surgery in the meantime - that will make a world of difference.

So here's to lots of walks, getting those lungs and legs pumping and taking you to a healthier, happier life!

Kathy
