my *involuntary* 5 day pouch test (day 8)
Yikes, what a way to end a trip. Sorry you ended up so sick. I hope you at least had some good days there.
I'm disappointed to hear how you were treated at Barix. Everyone has always been so great there. Hopefully it's an isolated incident.
Glad you're back in the good ole' USA. When you are feeling better shoot me an email and we'll do lunch.

So sorry to hear that happened to you!!! I hope you are feeling better now. It wouldn't surprise me if we are more sensitive to the effects of food poisoning now, due to our shortened and rerouted innards. If you do get an answer to that, I would be interested to know!
Take care. Feel better.

Greg!
oy such drama. I'm glad you made it out alive
I work for a company and this is EXACTLY what we do, medically manage international travellers in these situations and perform medical evacuations (although Argentina is a center of medical excellence). Doesn't your company have something like this to support their travelers? I checked and you're not clients of ours, but I cannot imagine a company your size doesn't have something in place. I'd check with your HR folks before you ever travel again.
I'm glad you hooked up with Dr. Marymor.

Thanks Mel. The trip was actually through Drexel as part of my MBA. They/we had insurance through a place called International SOS (http://www.internationalsos.com/) and yes, they were telling me that Argentina was a 'place of medical excellence'.... still, I wanted Dr. Marymor or someone that understood our 'patient population' (speaking english would have been good).
Let's plan to catch up downtown. Eileen also works close to us. We should all do lunch.
