my *involuntary* 5 day pouch test (day 8)
OMG Greg what a horrible experience! Glad that you are home and doing OK.
I too had a bad experience with Barix being a "transplant" after Dr Brader left.
Someone had posted where Dr Marymore landed and he is practicing again - look back to the posts mid-last week he posted himself too, I believe that he is in Chester.
Hope you are feeling better!

PS I have not had food poisioning but think that it would hit us harder and pass through faster as stomach bugs in general seem to do in my body.

I am so sorry to hear what happened to you while traveling. Worse yet, I am sorry to hear that Barix dropped the ball big time. That really should not have happened.
I got a call from Dr. Marymor on Monday, and he gave me his new cell number. We played phone tag for a few days, especially after I posted some misinformation here. I finally spoke with him on Thursday or Friday and he is going to send me the paperwork to get my bloodwork done for my annual tune-up. Though my surgery was in August, I intend to see him in July due to family obligations that will have me out of state in August. (My daughter is due to deliver my grandson then.) He also advised me about getting my records from Barix.
I will PM you with his number. He is working out of Crozer Chester, and he said he is in Springfield, Delaware County.
Get well soon.
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

I had that same issue with barix... that is just their stupid office people... not even nurses/doctors... when I had issues a few months back I pitched a hissy fit on the phone and told them to call the doc now... and that if they wouldn't do it... I would come down and beat them in the head with a bat... needless to say... they called... Dr. Boe was very pissed off at the staff for being rude like that... and told me sorry twice... my issue was I was pregnant... should i just drive down and see them or go to see my OB or the ER... after talking for 30 mins we decided on the ER and have them treat me as a WLS patient... which they didn't... they treated me like I was a OB patient... which is why I didn't pick that hospital for my surgery... and I of course got the OB doc that knew nothing about gastric bypass and being pregnant... argh...
But, I am so sorry you went through all of that...

Hi Greg - hope you're feeling better soon and glad it wasn't more serious than it was, but it certainly doesn't sound like it was anything to laugh at either. Hopefully everything will calm down and you'll be back to your old self soon.
As for Barix I would definitely follow up, because I've only had one case where I had an emergency and when I told the person who answered the phone what it was they got in touch with Dr Boe's assistant immediately who got on line with me and he called me soon after that. I think whoever answered that service is going to be answering to some doctors real soon...
Take care - and stay home!!
