Banded & Home

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Well, I'm OFFICIALLY BANDED!!!

I had my surgery on Thursday and came home on Friday evening.  I'm feeling pretty sore around my incision sites.  Trying to figure out if the pain is from the surgery or just the gas.  I'm doing my best to walk around and trying to get rid of the excess air/gas.  I'm taking my pain meds as needed.

I've been sipping my crystal light and eating my jello and broth.  I'm starting to feeling the restriction with just this.

Is there any advice you can give me on how to get past these next couple of days?

Thanks,

Alisha

Hi Alisha - my advice is -> keep moving and keep sipping.  The first two days out were the worst for me but I felt a lot better by the third day.  You probably feel restriction now because of all the swelling.  I was lucky to have restriction with just the band being placed and didn't get a fill for about three months!  Sit back and enjoy the ride you are about to take!

Thanks...

One question... I'm having trouble determining if I'm having restriction or just fullness from gas.  When should all the gas be gone? I would have thought by today I would be good, but I'm still feeling it.

Yay!!

As far as getting through the next couple of days - just keep doing what you are doing.  Walk walk walk walk and WALK.  The gas can take quite some time to get out.  I don't know if your doctor allows it, but I was allowed to take either the chewables or the strips of gas x.  It did help a bit.

Each day will get better and better!
