So sorry that someone was so insensitive and definitely rude to you.  This person probably has never had a weigh problem so couldn't relate but to disrespect you so blatantly in front of your fionce' is just totally unacceptable in my opinion.  I would register a complaint because regardless of what she personally felt about your choices, as an employee there she did not have the right to treat you as she did.

Don't worry, after surgery, you are going to have the last laugh on her and furthermore anyone that thinks this surgery is the easy way out hasn't one single solitary clue about the lifestyle changes that have to be made.

Her comments to you have me red!

Don't let anyone as uninformed as this person get you down! Obviously this person has never had a real weight issue or dealt with the discrimination we have to everyday. I have many friends who have had the bypass and it is anything BUT easy. Everyone is different and deals with the changes differently. You should be proud of your decision to do it and count everyday as a victory. I hate ignorant people who just need to keep their opinion to themselves. This is about YOU, no one else. If she has an issue with bypass then that is HER problem not yours. Keep thinking positively and take each day as a gift.

I have said this a million times so I will say it one more time...living well is the best revenge. I would write and send a certified letter to management and tell them about this incident and see what they have to say and tell them you are extremely uncomfortable with the enviorment and attitude of their employees and do not wish to honor your contract due to this unfortunate incident and see what they say or you can threaten legal action for them trying to enforce the contract and they just might back off. At this point what is there to lose. No pun intended. Also never ever stop your vitamins this is a life-time committment. In the end her not following doctor's orders will catch up with her and she will have no recourse and no one to blame but herself.  They are called doctor's orders for a reason. Chin up we're rooting for you here.

The other thing you have to remember is in most cases gym trainers have a very limited range of knowledge. My Son and DIL go to a gym that employs the so called "experts" and what I hear out of their mouths is amazing. Their nutritional guidance and weight loss info just blows my mind. I would really be curious as to the education and background your trainer has and as a client you have the absolute right to ask.

PS - I am a former commercial gym owner.

I just read this and I'm getting angry..... what YMCA was it?  I think a call to the general manager is in order and I'll even offer up giving an information session on GBP for his/her trainers....

I HATE IGNORANCE.
