Wednesday Exercise
Got the new EA Active Wii game last night. OMG - it's awesome!
The down-side is that after this morning's 16-minute "low impact - Easy" workout, I couldn't feel my legs! haha! But I mean that in a good way :-).
It has everything from Volleyball, Tennis, Basketball, Kickboxing, Cardio Boxing, Dance, Inline Skating, Baseball, and a huge range of circuit-training exercise. Comes with a resistance band and nunchuk holder that straps to your leg (it was PLENTY big to fit on my thunder-thighs, thankfully!). You need a nunchuk for pretty much everything because it's used to sense your body position. For example, if you're doing a squat it determines how far down you've squatted and gives you feedback based on that.
One of the things I especially like about it is that your force and movements and body position are all directly translated into your onscreen performance. So for tennis, not only do you have to hit the ball correctly (forehand, backhand, overhead smash), you also have to hit it hard enough and in the right direction. YAY!
Anyway - based on last night's playing around and this morning's serious workout, I can really recommend it!
OH - it also has an option so that 2 people can work out together (you'd need 2 Wii remotes and 2 nunchuks, as well as 2 resistance bands and 2 nunchuk holders). They do sell an "add on" kit that is just the second resistance band and nunchuk holder if that's all you need.
I'll try to walk tonight again before support group if my legs cooperate :-).
