OT - update on onco visit
Had my first visit with the oncologist today ... this was the gyno one. I see the intestinal one tomorrow morning.
Today's doc was really wonderful - great personality, very non-condescending, thorough, communicative... everything you want in an oncologist. He said based on Dr. Pupkova's description that he feels "95% comfortable" that the ovarian lesion and mass are benign fibromas. (whew!) There is that 5% that he wants to continue investigating, which is why we're doing an mri and ultrasound next week. He also said that if the intestinal doc wants to do a lap to explore, he'll join him just to see everything directly and decide whether any further action is needed.
Based on today's visit, I feel reassured that nothing's sounding too ominous! So lots of tests and visits over the next 2 weeks, but that's a good thing.
If the intestinal doc doesn't want to do an exploratory lap at this point, I'm not sure where that leaves me with regard to Dr. Pupkova completing the RNY. It's also hard to tell whether what she did is "enough" for me at this point to address the weight... and only time will tell that. I hate being in limbo on things! But I'm 23 lbs down from surg weight in a month, and 35 down overall since consult. I'm not complaining - working the program, working the exercise, getting my head on straight and "acting as if" I had the full surgery. That's the only way this will work for me.
Sigh.

Glad that it is good news!
I would imagine that the way your insides are re-arranged now is more like a lapband, you have the restriction without the dumping! For some people that works terriffic - I need to know I'll get sick if I eat sweets!
Best of luck and I hope that no lap surgery is needed that the tests reveal all!
