Something really horrible happened yesterday
We were saying goodbye to one of our friends out front and my little Terrier dog got onto the road and wa**** and killed instantly. She was 6 1/2. It was terrible. At least I was standing within 50 yds of her and got to her right away, but she was gone by the time I got there. Thank God that she went instantly and didn't suffer. The man who hit her stopped, and he was crying too. There was nothing he could have done differently and it wasn't his fault at all. I told him that. She was on the road and she shouldn't have been there. He could not have avoided her. I knelt over her on the road until I got myself pulled together enough to pick her up. I wrapped in a blanket that I made for her, and held her until my husband and our best friend had a grave dug for her. Then I laid her in the ground. She is in our back yard so she will always be close to us. Needless to say it has been supper tough. My hubby is a mess. And I am trying to be the strong one. My 13 yr old son, was home sick from school yesterday so he was here, and so was my 18 yr old son. I had to call the other two to tell them. .......... On a completely different note. Today is prom for two of my kids. So now we need to put on happy faces and go about the bussiness of living. One of them is a senior and the other is a junior. I will post pics of them all dressed up. Hope everyone enjoys the sun today. Belinda
I am very sorry to hear about your little doggie, Belinda. Thoughts are with you and your family and the poor guy that hit your pup. I had the same happen to me once and I felt soooo horrible. There was nothing I could do for the pup or the owner; I felt so helpless and I'm an animal lover myself. I say a Hail Mary everytime I see something in the road. (My husband thinks I'm nuts.) I'll send one up for your Little Angel.

Belinda,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's tough enough to lose a beloved pet when they die of old age or illness and you can see it coming... it's even harder when it's so sudden and unexpected.
Be consoled by the fact that your terrier was very loved and had a great life with you. You gave her wonderful things and it was not your fault or the driver's that she ran out... sometimes our pets just do things suddenly that surprise us and they ARE faster than us!
Her spirit will be with you as you heal.
