Hi all I was just at my seven week check-up and I am happy to report that overall the doctor is pleased. I have lost 35 pounds since my surgery day. We talked about all the trouble I am having with my pouch, Pain nausea not tolerating food and liquids well. He had some suggestions to try. But all in all said that some people just go through this post op. He said it is like your system goes into to shock, and gets stuck in this limbo of everything tasing horrible not tolerating stuff etc. Usually lasts two to three months. He said the longest one that they ever had at their office was six months. He wants me to keep doing what I am doing and wait it out. Of course all the tests run at the hospital last week came back good, the ulcer is healing and there is no stricture, so I feel confident that he is right. Makes me feel good at least knowing that I  AM doing the right things, and there is an end in sight to feeling this icky all the time. Yea Me I am headed in the right direction. Hugs everyone Belinda

glad to hear that your visit went well.  I hope that your issues don't last for 6 months.

Kick your system out of its shock and set it straight!!! If I knew how to do that, I would tell you.. but I can hope and pray for you that it gets better.

Good news! Congrats on losing the 35 - that's fantastic! Guess our bodies are all different - listen to yours and follow where it leads. Sounds like things will begin to be a little more 'normal' soon.

Take care - Kathy

Way to go on the 35 lbs! One day at a time or should I say one meal at a time.   Hoping for more good days for you!

Belinda,
Sorry to hear that you have been having so much trouble. Listen to the doctor and wait it out - it should get better with time.  If somthing bothers your stomach, don't eat it for awhile,. You can always try it again when you are farther out.
Congrats on the 35 pounds!

Don't you just love hearing the words "keep doing what you are doing"?  That's so great - I know it's hard to imagine, but one day you will miss these days when food was yucky :)
Hang in there - I promise the rewards far outweigh the troubles!
