just curious...are you a preop or postop?
Hi, I am 1 year and 8 months post op. At my highest I weighed 288 pounds and I am now 155 pounds, which was my goal. I have maintained my weight loss for one year!! I had some plastics done in December and also three weeks ago. I used to have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, bad knees, bad back, allergies, borderline diabetic, and I was on an experimental stomach medicine for IBS. I no longer take any medication and feel so much younger. The surgery was the best thing that I ever did for myself. Dr Pupkova saved my life.
Well, I'm also new to these boards. I don't yet live in PA but will be soon (Phildelphia).
I'm just over 6 months post-op with the lap Duodenal Switch. I'm down 91 pounds and just a few ounces away from onederland so I'm pretty excited.
I have about 65 pounds left to reach my goal. It's going very well too!
My best advice is to remain present and aware of what your body is saying. If you put yourself on auto-pilot you'll end up missing important cues from your body and your mental state. Be aware of what is going on and you'll be successful.

Sorry I am late posting been out of town.
I will be 3 years out Oct 3rd. I have lost around 180 depends on the day.
I still would like to lose 30 more but I am working on it, Maintaining is not as easy
as losing. I am having to learn a whole new way of living and thinking so that takes time.
Read my blog there are tips and insights and funny stuff all through it.
The main advice is make promises to yourself about your food behaviors prior to surgery and then keep them.
