Agreed!   Scale hasn't moved in at least a week, but my teenaged daughter had to "yell" at me again (2nd time in 5 1/2 weeks) cuz my pants were too big.  2 jeans sizes in 5 1/2 weeks!

Hi there!

I had lap RNY by Dr Ali on April 20th...so I'm 20 days out today.  I'm down about 30 lbs.  This Wednesday, I go for my post-op check up with Dr Ali.  Dr Ali is wonderful.  So kind and caring.  He actually called my room on my 1st post-op day to see how I was doing as Ihad some major leaking from my one stab site.  He had to come over from the office to "fix" it.  Some manual pressure on the wound stopped the leaking.  So he called a few hours later to see if the leaking had slowed down.

Now be sure to keep on the insurance coordinator as she's known to drop the ball.  Call her daily if you have to!  Good luck!

thanks so much for the info! I just sent you a message asking about the insurance coodinator, but you answered it here lol. trust me I call her often. I'm suprised she doesn't know my voice. I've had some issues with missing paperwork and stuff so I'm always calling to make sure she got it, etc. She's been good at returning my calls at least.

Hi!!! Welcome and congrats on taking the first steps on this marvelous journey!!

As for me I am just about a year out and down over 100 pounds from my high weight of 291.  I feel amazing!! I have more energy, more get go and love my new life!!

How do I stay on track??Well like Pam P.(and soooo many others!!) I too stay on this board.  I have been in a full time mba program and work full time as ateacher so getting to the support meetings has been difficult but even when I am not posting everyday--I assure you I am on here reading the posts and getting inspiration, ideas and support. These people are family to me now and OH is a lifesaver for me.  I don't know how I survived without it before!! My day is not complete unless I check in on the OH board!!

Remember this is an ENTIRE lifestyle and mental change but in the end it is soooooooooooooo worth it.  You will have so many wow moments and sooooo many new experiences because of it!!Congrats and good luck!!! If you have any questions feel free to ask!!!

Much luv!!

thanks for the welcome and well wishes. I joined this board in hopes that it would help support wise since I don't have much support when it comes to family and there's really only one support group a month that I know of here. so far this place has been great.

Hello there and welcome! I had my surgery on Feb. 23.  I am down about 53 lbs or so.   I KNOW that I would not have come as far as I have without this board.  I read it every day and try to post something every day.  We are definitely a happy, even if sometimes dysfunctional  family. LOL!!

We are a very close knit group!! I try new foods and recipes that I get from here to keep things interesting.  I also go to the gym 4-5 days per week and am currently working with a personal trainer once a week at the gym.

This is the best thing I could have ever done for myself and for my daughter.  I have had NO complications!! NO regrets!!!

Hi, I am 4 1/2 years post op. I lost 110 pounds. Just had a baby 3 weeks ago so have about 12 pounds to get back to my goal/pre-preggo weight.

Maintaining isn't hard as long as you don't let yourself think you can eat junk, just because you are far out. I still eat mostly protein. I can have breads and pastas without issue, but limit it because it's a bad habit to fall in to.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

congrats on the baby! that's great that you only have 12lbs to go. it's nice to hear from people who are years out. gives me hope since the later down the line is what makes me nervous.

Hi there - I am almost 15 months out and have lost 160 lbs. Would still like to lose another 25 or 30 but have been sort of stuck at my current weight for a while now - not complaining so please don't take it that way - I am beyond thrilled with my accomplishments and if I don't get the rest off then so be it, but at least I am maintaining and am thrilled.

I am off almost all of my meds - no more asthma meds, no more cholesterol meds, no more CPAP for sleep apnea and I can do sooooooo much more than I could before.

I have recently joined Curves in hopes of getting some more weight off - we'll see how it goes.

Welcome to the boards- this is such a fantastic place for support, comfort, a good ass-kicking if you need it - whatever!! And trust me, if you haven't noticed by now, no topic or subject is too personal to be shared out here (aka Norm's recent poop story...). But it helps all of us on our journeys to know that we're not alone in our weirdness with our new bodies, and that somebody out here has either gone thru what we are or will.

Best of luck to you...we're all rooting for you!!

Kathy
