Kristin,
WELCOME HOME! Yeah, the soreness on the left side (I still have some pain in my left shoulder, actually) is to be expected.
To get the liquids in, just use your measured cup and keep sipping... a few sips at a time (SMALL) and before you know it you'll be there. Likewise with the proteins... start small and before you know it you'll be at your full protein level. Make the protein selections at the beginning that have the MOST protein in the least volume, because you're not going to want much volume.
Keep reminding yourself why you're doing this and STRETCH and MOVE as much as possible all the time. That movement and stretching will help you feel better and get more of the liquid and protein into you.
good luck!

WELCOME HOME!!!!
Keep that bottle of fluids IN YOUR HAND as much as possible and just keep sipping. It's hard to get it all in, but you will figure out how to do it.
A few suggestions: Experiment with different size bottles/cups etc. I found early out it was difficult for me to drink out of a regular drinking glass - I kept getting to much. And yet, a "sport" water bottle was difficult for me, too, cause I felt like I was getting to much air. I did best with snapple type bottles and/or regular water bottles.
Also, experiment with different temps of fluids. Many people found warm/room temp waters felt better on the pouch early out. My pouch didn't care to much....
And, if you want to...get a medicine cup that comes with pepto bismol or similar things...something that has "30 ml" marked on it. If you drink one of these every 15 minutes for 16 hours a day (assuming you sleep for 8 hours) you will actually have consumed 64 ounces of fluid. And it can be a little less intimidating to have a tiny medicine cup in front of you as opposed to a 32 ounce bottle.
Sip sip sip walk walk walk!!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
