OT: How does this sound?
Ok, so many of you know that my mother's day gift to my mom is home made stuffed cabbage and home made pierogies. Both look like they turned out REALLY well. I will be seeing her on Saturday for Mother's day, and will be giving it to her frozen so she can decide when she wants to eat it.
To be a little creative, I wanted to include a "mothers day menu" that sounded like descriptions from a restaurant, but creative (and sarcastic cause it's me)
I appologize in advance for any head hunger this may cause....
Potato and Cheddar Cheese Pierogies A family favorite! Two dozen homemade delicate crescent moons stuffed with potato and cheese filling. These are parboiled, and then quickly pan fried creating a golden brown outer shell. Nestled on a bed of bacon, caramelized Vidalia onions, and topped with a sprinkling of cheddar. Enough to share for the whole family! (But you don’t have to, it’s YOUR day!)
Golumpki Centuries of Europeans know this as the “ultimate" comfort food! Tender steamed cabbage rolls are delicately wrapped around a traditional beef, pork, and rice filling. Then simmered in a homemade sweet and sour tomato sauce. No soup here! Sit down and enjoy a meal guaranteed not to be taken by others in the house!* *Note: Consuming raw or undercooked meat has NOT been linked to swine flu. However, your daughter made this, so take your chances!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

That sounds really cool and I'm sure she'll love it, and the food! I'm caving in and make the stuffed cabbage Saturday for my husband - he LOVES it and I guess I did a decent job when I made it because he's asking for it again - pull out that crockpot!
And hey, maybe YOU'LL be the mommy getting great gifts next year - keeping our fingers crossed!
