Anyone have kennel cough??
I think tucker has kennel cough. He gets his bordetella vaccine every 6 months, but was in the kennel 6 weeks ago for my plastics. I noticed him coughing a little a couple weeks ago, but thought he was just eatting too fast as always. Then I started to notice it a lot more. He has an appointment tomorrow with the vet, but I thought I would ask if anyone knows anything about it.

The cough is more like gaging or something stuck in their throat. If your dog is in good shape and healthy it will go away on it`s own or a vet might give an antibiotic and maybe some cough syrup. You`ll recognize it`s not a regular cough or sneeze.
Generally nothing to worry about.

Jude always gets his shots, too, but once in a while a dog will come into Fuzzy Butts with it and he'll get a slight dose of it - most of the time the vet doesn't even want him brought in because it is so contagious, so I'll just pick up some meds for him. Is Molly coughing? Plus Tucker was just in that dog walk - he might have picked it up there.

What a shame you needed to kennel him I would have been so flattered to have Tucker as a guest in my home. After three dogs whats one more? Even a newfie. Sounds like allergies if Tucker had his vaccine. My vet will not board without it and makes you get the vaccine thru him just so he has that peace of mind. BTW did I see a Molly ? Dog or cat? What kind you can bring her too.
