I'm Banded

Well, surgery was on Wednesday and I was discharged yesterday and came home. I will never understand why the second day is worse than the first day post-op?

Anyway, my surgery was a success and when I was discharged yesterday I found out that I had gotten a Realize band, no biggie as long as it does its job. Feeling a little sore today and I think the contrast from the GI I had yesterday is starting to come out if you know what I mean. My stomach sounds like the 4th of July at times but I am getting my liquids in and will try some broth later. The pain meds they gave me kick me in the behind, but I have not needed any so far this morning. Just want the weather to clear up so I can go take a walk outside, you can only walk so much indoors. I will keep you all updated on my progress and I need to catch up on my blog.

Congratulations on your surgery - the Realize band seems to be the newer, improved version of the old band, so its probably best that you received that. I wish you all the best with it. Yeah, seems like the day after surgery is always the worst, but you'll be feeling better soon.

Take care and keep us posted on your progress.

Hey Mr Green!  I was banded Wed too.  The only discomfort that I am having is after the abdominal contracting from the "episodes" of the contrast leaving my body!!  It started yesterday and is continuing today.  Better than being blocked up though, lol!  Good luck!!!

Thank you all for your responses, it means a lot. I can't wait to go on with the new me. I have such good feeling that I have not had in a long time (no, it's not the meds). I really feel I can do this and it is all for the good.

Congrats and welcome to the losers bench!!  Glad to hear that all went well.  How did you like Magee?  I have nothing but praise for my stay there.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride!!!
