Feels like I have a lump in my throat?

I noticed that since I took all my vitamins/pills/capsules prescribed for me post op this morning, that it feels as theres a lump in my throat.

Liquids are still going down fine.  I'm still on full liquids through Sunday.  No pain when I swallow.  Nothing is coming back up. But it's annoying...you know, that 'frog in the throat' feeling.

Should I be taking in some hot liquids?  I've had nothing but cold liquids today...Isopure ZeroCarb, CIB, propel water and sf popsicles.

I'm on levothyroxine(was on this pre-op), metformin, magnesium, potassium, iron capsules, prilosec capsules, Bariatric Fusion vitamins and the bariatric advantage chewable calcium lozenges.

I increased my walking today...got up ad walked around outside and DH and I just returned from a small trip to Walmart where I walked around for about 30 minutes(or less).

Any idea what the matter could be?

are you taking them all at once? Try to take them sporadically throughout the day.  You are still early out to be taking them all at the same time.

Hot liquids is your preference.  I lived on peppermint tea (hot) and sugar free popsicles for the 1st 10 days after.  Peppermint tea helps with the gas.

You are doing great!

See, the Dr told me that I could take 3 or 4 pills at one time.  So, I've been doing this since Friday and haven't had ANY problems until today.

I'm gonna go try some beef broth and see if that helps!

Thanks for replying so quickly Lisa!

Someone is my support group last night said that it could have a stricture (someone in the group had the same symptoms. She was told to call the Dr and make an appointment and see if she needed an endoscope.) So if it doesn't clear up, I would say make an appointment.

Love always, Jennifer

Hope the lumpy calms down soon :)

Lump is still there...GAWD I hope it's not a stricture!  I HATE having tubes shoved down my throat.

iron should be taken 1 hour before or two hours after calcium or they will cancel each other out.  Calcium is absorbed better by the body when taken with food and "C".  Right now your stoma (the entrance to your pouch) is the size of an M&M.  You need to break them up, hot liquids should help them go down easier, also they slide down better when taken inside something creamy like pudding or yogurt, these are considered to be full liquids.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.

Thankfully, the lump went away!

I'm not allowed pudding or yougurt until Monday...for now I'm limited to the sugar free protein mixes, CIB, sf jello, sf popsicles, broth, strained cream soup, fat-free milk.  Oh I never take the calcium with the iron tabs.

Some of the pills the Dr prescribed are bigger than an m&m!  I took them while I was still in the hospital!  The magnesium, potassium and metformin tabs are bigger than an M&M!

When your ready for yogurt, try the fat free plain greek ones.  They are loaded with protein and you can flavor them with sugar free jams or sugar free, fat free pudding mixes.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.
