Deep breath!

Youv'e been through a lot recently and your body will need a more extended time to recover.

Keep resting, walking, sipping - whatever your docs instruct!  The protein drinks WILL make you full fast.  Try drinking 1/2 of one at a time.  And maybe mix it with water instead of milk to try to make it less filling.  Remember, it may take time to get all your protein goals in.

I hope you feel better soon!

Pam

Hey there, like you at two weeks I was feeling really good. Starting to walk, eating without problems, what was on the required diet. At my two week checkup I found out one of my incisions was infected. Antibiotics, and dressing changes and 3 weeks later that is cleared up and doing good. Then at four weeks out, I started not being able to eat much at all. I had pain in my stomach, and nausea. Had to call on the weekend because I felt so rough. Turns out I had developed an ulcer and a stricture. I am about one and half weeks after that now and feeling better. Still have some stomach pain, and eating is going better but still difficult somedays. The important thing to remember is all that is behind me, and today is a new day. I really would love for you to be able to look forward to all the good things that are coming your way. Believe me I know how rough it is, and I have had some "moments:" where I wondered if it really is worth all this aggravation. But I truly believe it is and there is always tomorrow, and you can make tomorrow what you want it to be. You can't change what happens to you, sometimes complications happen. What you do have complete control over is how you react to those complications. You can't chose what happens ever, but you can always chose how YOU react. I hope things keep getting better everyday for you, and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there. Belinda

Thank you all for your wordsof support!. Yesterday was the first day that I didn't have that all around sick feeling. Yeah! Thank you Belinda for sharing your story with me.  In spite of all that has happened, I'm not sorry I had this done. It is the beginning of a new life for me. I was really developing complications from carrying all the weight, so I know this was the right decision for me! Back to one day at a time!
