Which is best prior to exercise?

Which is best before exercise? Carbs or protein... I know we all do low carb... but I wasn't really sure...

Carb before, protein after!

Doesn't have to be sugary carbs. You could drink some skim milk or have some yogurt!

I dont do either.  I try to get to the gym first thing in the morning, but if that is not possible - then put at least an hour or two in betweeen any intake and your working out.  Immediately AFTER you are done you should be consuming a big shot of protein  then within an hour of that eat your meal or snack.

I have had several trainers tell me this and have had lots of personal success with it.
