I weighed myself this morning, naked as I usually do, and weighed in at 232 lbs!  I can't believe it!  That makes 23 lbs lost since I started my pre surgery liquid diet!

ok - so it's NOT just me... thank heavens!  I just weighed myself and I'm down 12.6 from my surg weight (4/22) - on 2 scales - didn't believe the first one.  I knew that my release weight was the same as my pre-surg weight, but i didn't think I'd lost much if anything since then.  Woo hoo!

So CONGRATS Kelly... and thanks for the reassurance that I'm not going crazy and my scale's not broken!  I'd heard that it takes a couple of weeks to lose the added surg liquid weight, but I guess that's not always the case.

And Kelly... you're getting all your protein and liquids, right?  (Don't want to be losing the wrong stuff right about now!)  I'm finding it hard to push all that liquid, but just taking it a little at a time.

The surgery water weight generally comes off within a day or two.

And depending on your starting weight, age and a ton of other things, the first couple of weeks - about 2 or 3 you will probably lose a lot of weight very quickly - probably a pound or two a day....but be prepared for a "stall" somwhere between week 3-8.  It can last awhile to boot!!

Anyway - FABULOUS job thus far!!!  Keep it up!!!

Congrats to you both!!  I've been on the liquid diet since Wednesday and have lost 5 lbs which feels great!!!   I am still fighting a sinus infection though, so am really tired.  I'm off to bed early tonight, then plan to spend tomorrow (day before surgery) relaxing, getting a pedicure, etc.

Congrats Kelly Kell!
Question,,,are you still on liquids? I did something real dumb earlier....I had my 10z protein shake for breakfast..and went til late afternoon when I realized that I didnt  have anything since the shake for breakfast...so I called myself testing my pouch and ate a pkt of Weight Mgmt banana oatmeal...suprisingly my pouch allowed me to eat the entire thing which pissed me off...I'm wondering why didn't my pouch get full after atleast 3 tsp?!@@! but after eating it, I sufferd severe cramps which forced me to bed and to sleep.....upon waking up, I felt better so I ate some pre-made cream of chicken soup-6 oz...and thats basically all I ate all day...oh and a sf popsicle....am i eating too much too soon just 9 days post op...I just thought I should only be able to eat 1 tbsp of anything and be full....I don't am I being hard on myself or should I be alarmed?????
I'm going back on the liquids for another week or two to be on the safe side.

Your "full" receptor does not work right now.. The nerves were severed during surgery. It is important to measure everything you are taking in and eating/drinking it very slowly.  Make sure you are getting in your liquids and your vitamins and you should be ok.  I LIVED on SF popsicles at 9 days post-op.  I was on strict clear liquids only, though I know my surgeon is different than most.  Follow whatever program your surgeon gave you and do not try to eat anything that is not on your approved list.  Your pouch is still healing and you don't want to cause any damage to it.

Good luck! You'll be fine!
