I bought Dannon light and fit yogurt - it has 5 grams protein, but I was surprised to see it has 11 grams of sugar.
Any other yogurts you guys can recommend that are lower sugar and still taste half decent and provide the needed protein??

Hi Kathleen.  Sorry I got your last message a little late.  I did send you a message back though.
Wondering where you were in Holland.

Bryers light is also good.  Sweetned with aspartame. Remember the sugar could be natural sugar and then it is OK. If sugar is not listed in the first five ingredients then it is OK to have.  If it is under 2 grams you can have it either way.  Also, you may want to try Greek yogurt.  Most people do not like it by itself (very sour), but blended with a few s/f frozen strawberries, half a banana, and some s/f sweetner is really good.  It is full of protein and can be counted as a liquid in the begining stages.

I wish you luck with your surgery and a speedy recovery!

The Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurts are sugar free and you can add Sugar free, Fat free Jello Pie or Pudding mixes to it, S/F Jams or Jelly to it, or fresh fruit.  Breyers Light is natural sugars.  The greeks yogurts however are more filling.  They tend to taste like sour cream which works out well for a sour cream substitute since they have about 17 gr. of protein in them. Look for Oikos, Chobani or Fage Plain Non-Fat.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.

It's great as a yogurt, but also a great subsitute for sour cream.

Hmmmm.....I'll have to see what I think then since I'm definitely not a fan of sour cream.

If you add something sweet to the greek yogurt like SF jelly, SF syrups, or SF pudding powder, then it doesn't taste like sour cream.  Then, it is YUMMY!

I'll have to try it with some almond or vanilla extract and a little Splenda.

Just as an FYI (again I haven't read all the responses....so this might be repetitious) The sugars are natural sugars which are allowed.  It is from the milk.

Most yogurts will have sugars in them due to that fact.  And they can be pretty high.

My personal favorite is Chobani greek 0% fat yogurt.  I add splenda and fruit to it or sf davinci syrup or sf jam/jelly.  Sometimes even a little bit of crystal lite powder or sf jello crystals.

Recently Kerri stated that she mixes it with sf pudding powder for a dessert treat and that sounds yummy, too.
