Run down, break down or just down

Nicole - I know there is, there are a lot of problems with work - and the fact that I am not pregnant does get to me sometimes.

As for the time of the year - this is my FAVORITE time of year - infact our wedding anniversary is tomorrow and we chose that day because I love this time so much - flowers blooming, animals coming out, nice weather, warmer temps. My birthday lol (well in June)

I am going to get everything checked again but the B12 has been good lately and that feeling "low" is a different feeling then I am having now.

I will have to do something to get away for a weeked with Chris - or maybe with the girls - OR BOTH!! Afterall May1st is only about 2 weeks away!

I'll check into the therapy tonight - any suggestions on finding one? Of course I would love to come visit you but that is a heck of a hike!

I would suggest that you call your EAP at work if you have one. If not then call your MH benefit through your medical benefit plan. You want to find one in network because of cost.  I think that anyone can help you, as long as they can help you with stress management. I dont see anything too specialized that you need help with.  Stress and anxiety management would do. I think sometimes I just helps to have someone to talk to, that we dont have to worry about taking care of, stressing or offending in some way.
I am confident you will figure it out,. we are here for you in the mean time

Thanks Nicole - we are a tiny company with NO HR department. I think that there is a mental health number on the back of my card - I will call them tomorrow.

Thanks again!

Sorry you are going through a rough time :(

A therapist definitely helps!   I am trained as a licensed counselor, but outside grad school, have never been through counseling until last Fall (left my husband and also preparing for WLS).
It is defintely worth doing- I highly recommend it!    I am currently seeing a women who had WLS about 10 years ago and now specializes in working with post-op weight loss surgery patients.    Its been a great help in preparing me for the surgery as well.

hang in there- things will brighten up (along with the weather!)

THanks Kathleen!

Any advice on finding a therapist? I have never seriously considered it before but I don't think that it can ever hurt!

Looking forward to the sun tomorrow....

Liz,

Cripes, you sound just like me!!  We had a series of lay offs in the beginning of April that took my assistant away from me.   Since then, I have been like a maniac.  I'm doing my job, my assistant's job, the job of the assistant manager, and the over-flow from my boss.   One of the people that works under me isn't used to a younger person being her boss...   so her and i butt heads all the time....   the girls in the office are clicky....I don't have a back up, and no matter what i did, it just wasn't good enough, or not enough for my boss....    Finally, after coming home damn near every night crying to Norm about how awful my day was, or how pissed i was that day...  And feeling like i was just going to snap..   I took yesterday off.  I had things to do, yes.   would they be there today when i got there??  yep.   I went tanning, got my nails done, and laid around and watched movies, and napped all day.    Sometimes you just need a mental health day...   really.
Could chris also take a personal day with you?  and you two just have a kind of bonding day together??    Everyone deserves a little sanity in their lives, and for me, that did just the trick.   I felt like a million bucks today...    really.   I kept up on all my work, and never even felt like i was a day behind.    MUCH needed.   MUCH deserved.

Success is a journey... not a destination!

Thanks Mary! I can't imagine going through all of that and planning a wedding! But then agian I did it 4 years ago... I am glad that your day off helped you. I am going to have to schedule some time off for me - JUST for me. I have a massage gift card that I really should get to using.

THanks again!

Hi Liz!

The others have already given you excellent advice and suggestions, but I just wanted to offer my support to you also.  I must say, you sure do put up a great front...I am a pro at that one too ;)  But seriously, you need to slow down a bit, take some time for just you, and I hope you get some time for you and Chris too.  I too, am a big advocate of therapy.  It can really help tremendously.  As for how to go about finding someone -- I would start by calling the number on the back of your card.  Something to remember:  not all therapists are a good match for every single person they try working with.  I think it's really important to have one or more "trial runs" with a therapist.  You should almost be "interviewing" them to see if you could see yourself working with that person.  If you don't think it's a good match, please don't feel obligated to keep seeing that person.  Instead, ask him/her to recommend someone that might be a better fit for you.  Any good therapist should be understanding of your needs and be willing to recommend someone else to you.

Hope this helped a bit Liz and please know we are all thinking of you!

Sending lots of hugs from Boston,
Lisa :)
