I've been working from home for the last year- I love it!

I am also on a call center line for behavioral health managed care and I love being at home all day!

They were really kind and sent me lunch and a "party pack" for my bday.  And whenever they have an office party (food provided by managment) they send the at home workers Subway gift cards.

I know they do lots of parties in the office (which is in Texas), however I am glad I am not there and  eating all the goodies they always seem to have in the office!

I sent my boss a check for $30 to cover my contributions for the party costs for the year!

I don't know who said this, but I agree with them. RETURN THE GIFT! Screw that S^&*.  I don't mind people not wanting to go in on something, but before I would have bought something, I would already have had the money in hand.  people are so inconsiderate. Maybe you should just do the cake and a smaller gift then your total responsibility would only be 30 dollars or so.  I think 60 bucks for someone you just met 4 months ago is a hefty investment.  I didn't give a $60 gift to someone I worked with for 3 years! LOL... maybe that's just me being cheap now.

Anyway. THose girls you work with shouldn't have backed out like that. Bad form old chap.

ok, do this... go to a consignment store and buy her the bouncy seat... that way you aren't spending full amount... and a lot of times they are in great shape... I have a friend who did that for a baby shower at work... she got screwed by others so she went to a local consigment shop... got 3 things for the price of one...

If you don't wanna buy something used... just give her a gift card for the $15 and let her use it the way she wants...

But, I would also suggest the bumbo seat... i loved that thing for Lore... and used it more lol... she hated that bouncy seat thing lol...

But, does she know what she is having yet? Because you could buy her an outfit at target/kolhs/wal-mart and a package of diapers and wipes as a gift... I know I loved all the diapers I got at my baby shower...

But, if you see that chick eat out on Friday... club her and then take her cash and cards and go shopping lol!

Considering April 24th is a Friday, tell her instead of spending $20 on her special lunch she can give you $10 towards food and decorations and save the other $10 to put back towards what she spent on her gift.   We do showers here @ $15 (gift) $20 (gift & lunch).  We keep stocked decorations the entire office shares and each month do birthday cake and bagels 1X for just our dept. which we all contribute $13/yr. collected and handled by one person.  We have an office of over 80 folks; it can get really hairy around here between birthdays, company anniversaries, wedding and baby showers and retirements....holy crap....there's always something to eat.
P.S. - I've had ur "bug" since Friday too....no fun...hope it slows down soon for you.
