Had my RNY done last Wednesday.  I realize recovery times vary from one person to another, but I wasn't expecting to be in this much pain.   My incisions on the right side are still very sore and I can't get up and down by myself.  I was concerned because I am almost out of pain meds, but the doctor is ordering some more to pick up tomorrow.  I have been on clear liquids since last Tuesday and I swear when this is over, I will never eat jello again!  Had my first bit of protein  tonight - Carnation Instand breakfast.  I actually sat and smelled it, it smelled so good to have something different.  Any suggestions for some good first pureed foods?

You are right you probably wont eat jello again i dont. LOL  I pureed soups and chili and such. Mainly stuck to protein shakes and some pureeds. You will figure out what you like, Dont rush you have time to let your pouch heal. I was on full liquids for 3 weeks, then 2 pureed and 2 soft then reg. Pain during recovery is different for each person, if you are in pain ask for meds. If you think you can space it out and work through it do that. The main thing you need to be doing is sipping and walking, so if you can do that because of pain that is a problem.
I remember being very sore as you are as well. It will get better

The recovery process can feel like it is taking a lifetime - but then you will look back and realize it wasn't that bad in the grand scheme of things!

As far as pureed foods - the pureed soups were good and in all honesty, my favorite pureed was either meatballs in brown gravy or chilli.  Some say the chilli isn't a good idea due to possible ulcer formation and spices and what not - but I didn't have any problems with it, didn't eat it every day, and it was a great change of pace.

I also LOVE ricotta cheese with splenda and cinnamon.  I'm not sure if this is pureed or softs....but whenever....I still eat it almost every day and it tastes like rice pudding.

The pureed stage the food LOOKS gross but after yogurt and jello my oh my does it taste delicious!
