18 days until RNY!!!
So I realize today I have 18 days until surgery... that leaves 11 days until I start the 7 day liquid diet. WOW!!!!
In trying to prepare I bought a food scale, a bunch of protein shake samples, and some sugar free flavored syrups to add to stuff.
I am the type who likes to be overly prepared for everything and I know there is only so much I can do before surgery.
Since I am getting divorced and living with my parents temporarily, I don't have to worry about housework or anything like that after surgery, which is great.
Any suggestions on what else to buy, how to prepare over the next 2 weeks????

Can't suggest anything since I am getting Banded, but sounds like you ready to go and are preparing well. Good luck to you!!
The time will fly!! I too like to be overly prepared. Like Nicole said, don't buy too much your tastes will change drastically after surgery - have the protein samples is a great idea so you don't invest in a big tub of something you don't like. I am not crazy about canned or boxed stocks so I made my own and froze them in ice cube trays. Once ice cube was the perfect portion early out.

I had a few SF Jellos and Puddings in different flavors...hubby made me some chickedn broth...and my protein shakes. But be careful because your taste may change dramatically--when I bought the Strawberry Kiwi protein I LOVED it...tried it after surgery..almost gagged it was way too sweet....I am almost a year out and haven't touched it since...LOL but you will find what works for you when you get home. SF Jello and SF ice pops were my best friends there for awhile and then as you move forward you find more things you can tolerate.
Also be aware right after surgery you are not going to be hungry...at all. My hubby had to come in and remind me to eat something every couple of hours..
But for the pre-op liquid diet...Just do the best you can!! i only had to do it for a day before so I am no expert on the whole week of liquids before surgery. But after surgery is different! You are going to do great!
But good luck!!! Keep us posted!!
Much luv!!!

Don't OVERbuy on anything. Don't stock up on anything - your tastes will most likely change a million and one times after surgery. On that same note - if you don't like something early post op - keep it around for a little bit - you may like it later on down the road.
Liquid diet staples:
low fat milk (full liquids)
sf pudding snack (full liquids)
no sugar added/low fat yogurt (full liquids - dannon lite and fit is a good example or any of the unflavored greek yogurts which you will need to add flavoring to)
sf jello snacks (clear liquids)
sf ice pops (clear liquids)
sf fudge pops (full liquids)
sf creamscicles (full liquids)
crystal lite (clear liquids)
sf kool aid (clear liquids)
Broth (clear liquids. Some people use the broth out of a can of actual chicken soup instead of plain broth, more flavor. The other option is to buy STOCK not broth - again - more flavor)
Good luck, and keep us in the loop!
