****Friday Roll Call****
Good Morning Everyone!
It's been awhile since I posted so I thought I'd get todays roll call going.
Yesterday I worked from midnight till noon on 2 hours of sleep. I only have to work 4 hours today because of the longer shift yesterday. I'll be there from 6AM-10AM writing my hbc order.
I have been struggling with my hair for the past month. I started biotin early on to stop the hair loss. The texture has changed so dramatically I'm having a difficult time wearing my hair the way I've always worn it. I bit the bullet and made an appointment at Zigarelli's in Monroeville and going to let them hack it off or do what ever they have to do to it. I"ve always had thin hair in the front and I'm scared to death to get it cut but I know it needs done.

The hair thing - it's almost inevitable if it's gonna happen to "you" it's gonna happen. All the biotin in the world didn't help me either. However, getting it cut off really DID help and it was the best thing I ever did 7 mos post op.
Anyway I am in jersey today. I have the great pleasure of paying bills from my parents house (online). Whoo hoo. After that, I get to (temporarily) replace some of the $$ in my account by going back to work picking up my paycheck and depositing it into my checking account. Bills will continue to be paid when that check clears, LOL
I'll get to see my father this morning and potentially one of my brothers before I go to bed at their house. When I get up, I'll get to see my mom and maybe one of my other brothers, if he's not working (although he is a restaurant server and it's a friday night so i'm thinking he is probably working)
The good thing about the jersey days is that I have little to no responsibilities (except this time for the bill thing) and get to lounge and do nothing :) gotta love mommy's house, LOL
It'll be back to work tonight and then headed home on Saturday morning which I cannot wait for, whoo hoo! I get to see all the great people at Liz's house and have a great time! More on that Saturday, though!

Thanks for the info Pam. I am really nervous about this. Thinning hair runs in my family. My mom's hair was really thin in front and you could see alot of her scalp. Mine is also thinning in the front but nothing like hers. The biotin did help for awhile. I do have new hair growth. With the texture changing completely its just impossible to style and I think the thinning hair is more noticable. I chose Zigarelli's because I know the family and I figured if I was going to do this, I need a salon that knows what they are doing. The person cutting my hair has a family member that went through the hair thing since getting the lap band.

Good Morning PA!!!
Diane--I know how you feel! It is scary to cut your hair especially when it is goiong through all these changes after surgery! Last summer my hair was down the middle of my back--I have always had it very long..but the hair loss and changes were just too much after awhile so I went to the salon and had them cut it to just below my chin. What a difference!!! It did seem to slow the hair loss and my hair started to look healthier and became manageable once more! So I am sure that the people at the salon will take good care of you and you will look gorgeous when all is said and done! POST PICS on Facebook!! Good luck and have fun!!
As for me today--well it is Good Friday and traditionally I hold a dinner at my house because we are supposed to fast all day except for the one meal. Also it will be a housewarming for my family to come see our new house!! So I am cleaning and baking allll day...hubby is cooking the veggie lasagna and two types of Bread for the family. I am making little lamb cupcakes for the kids and ricotta pie with an awesome recipe from Lesley!! (THANKS LESLEY!!!!) So that is my day in a nutshell...Hopefully hubby remembers to pick up sodas on the way home from work so we do not have to run out before everyone gets here!!

I have a very busy day! I have volunteering at the Cancer Center. Then rush home and change and get stuff together for dance class. Get the key to the youth barn and get set up. Do class than rush home shower and get ready for my support group. After that, hopefully, all a success, I can relax.

Today I am meeting friends for breakfast and then we are going to Plke Creek to the Delaware Running Store for a shoe fitting. After that I am going to amuse myself with some shopping... just doing my part to stimulate the economy.

TGIF! Well you would think that I would have for the long weekend, but NO. Why would we get another holiday off. Granted, I don't observe Good Friday. BUT, every now and then Passover and Easter do fall together and it would be nice to have the day off. .
Anyway.... last night I went to seder at my friend's house and another friend was there with her family. She has not seen me since about 10 days after the surgery. She told me that my face looks completely different than it did before in a great way!! She is so impressed with the changes already. By the way, this is the friend who before the surgery told me to "just come to the gym with me..you can get it off that way." I am going to go the gym with her starting next week once I sign up, but I had told her before the surgery that I needed the extra tool to help me do it. Now, she understands. She's never seen me lose more than 20 lbs on my own and now I'm down 40!!! WOO HOO!!!!
Today has me working 7-3:30. My friends from last night's seder are going to pick up SIehara to go to synagogue so she will be occupied. She might not have fun, but she will be occupied nonetheless. After work, I will go to get her, but will probably end up staying there and eating leftovers for dinner. I don't know if the mall will be open regular hours tonight, but if it is, we'll probably end up there.
On my lunch break today, I am going to try to go out for a walk and start to get used to the road that I measured for my mile. It's time for me to get back out and walk. Most of the unpacking is done, so there is no more indoor exercise.
Other than that nothing going on.. just looking forward to tomorrow!! Hope everyone has a good day no matter what holiday you celebrate/observe.
