Has anyone gone thru the 6 months program at Lehigh Valley Hospital?  Any feedback regarding their program would be helpful.  I completed my first month and have my second month scheduled at the end of April.  My insurance company will only cover Lehigh Valley.

I went through the 6 mo program and also had Dr Boorse as my surgeon.  He is a wonderful person and very good at his job.   The 6 mo program was very interesting and helpful. Also make sure you go to the support group meetings because they are very informative.  I had my surgery Oct. 8th, 2008 and have lost about 84 lbs since the surgery but a total of 94 all together so far. I have had some problems with shin splints and tendonitis of my foot so I have not been exercising as I should.
If you have any questions you can send me a personal message through my OH or my home phone is 9089962859.

I have a friend and her hubby using them... his surgery is at the end of the month and her's is in may...

The only thin she didn't like was some of the people in the suport group... I guess they were very closed minded in what they would be able to eat after surgery... she took in a lot of my recipes to show them (my tuna salad, chili, chicken salad, etc...) to give them examples of how to make changes to still have foods they enjoy... they still didn't get it lol...

but other than that they both really liked the program...

I don't have experience with their bariatric program specifically - however have heard some great things about it from others and the hospital in general gets high marks for their patient satisfaction rate

Hiya:

I went through LVH and Dr. Boorse was my Dr. He and the staff were wonderful the whole time. I liked the 6 month program because it really got me to think about old habits in order to begin to change them prior to surgery and help me after surgery.

I also like the support groups as they are mixed with pre and post op folks.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.

I enjoyed the classes.  I am having band at the end of the month with Dr Boorse.  While I believe that there is benefit to having band and rny together in the support groups, I'd like to see them split apart more frequently.  I have learned a lot from the support groups that I've attended.
