Number one you might as well get over the chip craving now, because you certainly won't be eating them for months post surgery, and trust me, you won't miss them, so toss them out, don't go buy any more and tell yourself you need to be as healthy as possible for your surgery. We all have our addictions and I would be lying if I said I don't eat them now, but to prepare your body amd yourself mentally for the surgery and what you need to do afterwards don't eat any more.

I had to do a ten day clear liquid diet for my surgeon - one of the biggest things that got me thru it without feeling like I was starving to death was I would buy GOOD canned soups like chicken noodle, etc., then strain the veggies and noodles out of it and drink the broth - it was a lot more substantial than just plain chicken or beef broth and felt like I was eating something. That helped me a lot, and sugar free fruit popsicles - they were great as well.

You can (and must) do this - its not impossible, just a little harder than grabbing a bag of chips.

Best of luck to you...Kathy
