Viactiv calcium chews and a question

If any of you have read my post below,  i'm having issues with foamy acid in my new pouch.  Had some improvement since i switched away from the chewable vitamins and supplements.   I am still trying to figure out what is bothering me the most so yesterday I stopped my Calcium Citrate petite tablets and decided to try the viactiv chocolate calcium chews (i think they are calcium carbonate)

OMG i love these little chocolate delicacies.  I am in the last few days of my pureed phase (hopefully) and these little chocolate morsels just put me in ecstasy.  Whoo Whoo Whoo i think i could eat about 10 of them.  well maybe not that many but its nice fantasizing LOL.

So far I am my pouch is feeling better than it has this past week.  Still have some foamy acid and reflux, but it is much less than it was earlier in the week.  Not perfect, but better.  I even got myself to the gym and didnt stay in my jammies all day today like i did yesterday.  I have been able to eat and drink a little more today also.  I have a good feeling that i may be back on track.  Again, not perfect, but better.

Oh, just one question.  It was my understanding that calcium citrate was the preferred form of calcium....anyone know?  I will ask my surgeon on monday,  but the handout that he gave me on supplements did not specify.  It lists several suggestions for each supplement, and the viactiv chews are on the list for calcium.   I want to do the right thing, but at this stage it looks like the viactiv chews are better tolerated by my pouch.

now..............whats for dinner?  hmmmmmmmmmmm?

my understanding is that we do not have the ability to absorb or metabolize the carbonate.

Nicole is right - Calcium Citrate is what we need to take - they do make it in a chewable form - Oscal I think? I swallow mine now but I am more then 2 years out.

Hope you can rid yourself ot that acid foamies!!

Oh and dinner was a grilled pork chop, corn and a little rice-a-roni

i know you need stomach acid to digest carbonate, and we don't have enough of it...although your reflux may make that hard to believe.....

Anyway, Bariatric Advantage makes a wonderful Cinnamon Citrate that is FANTASTIC! it tastes like a red hot. I buy it at Barix...but see that's probably too far for you....here is a link:  http://www.dietdirect.com/bariatric-advantage-calcium-citrat e-60ct.html  but you should shop around

Vitamin Shoppe has several different chewable Calcium Citrate formulas.  If there isn't a store near you they are also on-line at vitaminshoppe.com   I love shopping there because if I buy something I don't like, even if I've opened the package, it can be returned.
