First Time

Hi all.  I am a first time poster, long time lurker.  LOL  Can't be too sure about some of these boards.  I have found this one to be very informative, helpful, and, at times, good for a giggle.  I just got my first appointment with Dr. Petrick at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for May 26th. I will be having RNY.  My understanding is that he is an excellent surgeon.  I am looking forward to having some experienced folks help me through the next steps in my journey.

 hi Kathy an welcome to the board... im also a geisinger patient.. had my surgery 2/23/09 with Dr.Strodel...  Hospital stay was great... staff was very well prepared to take care of all my needs.. an i didnt want or need anything while i was there...  i've only heard good things bout dr. petrick ur in good hands..  

Welcome to the PA Boards Kathy - always good to have another Kathy with a K on board! Congratulations on your surgery date - sounds like things are moving along quite well for you. Sounds like you have a great surgeon and good support from his staff - critical for your journey.

This board is awesome - everyone is a friend whether you've met in person, live close or far - doesn't matter. We're all here to support each other through our journeys - good times and bad.

Hi, and welcome. I too lurk these boards but plan on posting more often.  I had my RNY on 12/1 with Dr. Strodel at Geisinger.  I am very pleased so far-83 lbs to date. Look forward to meeting you at a support group meeting!  PM me if you wish.
