it's working!!!
Whatever I'm doing right, I hope it continues!! I'm down to 229.6......and 3 or 4 days ago I was 237.8.... Hurray!!!!
I'm loving it. I know it isn't permanent, but I feel good about it and it gives me the incentive to continue for a while. On April 2, I am going on a trip to Atlanta to see a friend I haven't seen in 7 years... so I know I won't be as good while I'm there...since all we ever did was eat, but this will help me to be better!
I am really thankful for all of the comments and advise everyone here has offered. I love the support of this board! I am very determined to get my weight under 200 again...

Sandy... My surgery was just a couple months before yours! I had gotten down to 188, but after my son....(see my signature), I gained 60 lbs over the next two years. I am a definite stress eater! In January of this year, I decided it HAD to come back off, so I joined Curves. I go 5 to 6 days a week, and I work up a major sweat each time! I also started watching what I was eating.. cutting back on carbs again, and got down to 230.. then had two bad weeks, and the scale went back to 237.6. Major argh!! Anyway, I went back to protein shakes for breakfast and lunch, with a good healthy dinner, and either a snack or another shake in the evening.. occasionally throw in a Skinny CD latte from Starbucks... lol.. good protein in them!... and it's working. I'm at 229.6 as of this morning... Amazingly, I'm not too hungry, either.. Lots of Propel and Crystal Lite... and a piece or two of cheese...I'm doing ok for now. I'm going to try to contine this trend till I leave for Atlanta Thursday morning... Then, well, it is a vacation!! Back to it when I get home on the 8th!!
Excellent job! I feel for your loss and am proud of you for taking the initiative to take back control! The tool remains in your belly, so you don't need anything there, and the hard part is breaking with the two years of bad behaviors. The longer you break away from carbs and fats and the rest of that stuff, the brain has a harder time remembering what it felt like to "get high" from it when you ate it. Exercise releases endorphins-keep that up too! Keep it up and it will again become second nature; just like before your terrible loss. It is a LIFETIME process so plan for the changes in that fashion. Don't look at this like a short term goal and it will become easier and easier. Immerse yourself in the "community", including support groups. You owe it to yourself. You owe it to your son and he would want you to do it for yourself-you deserve it. Go get what's yours!
