Frustrated with Barix
Good Morning PA,
I had my 1 year appt. scheduled with Dr. Boe for April 6th and now I have a work conflict and had to reschedule. I was told he was booked through June and the first appt. he had was on June 22nd which I took. I was rather astonished that I had to wait two months to see him. I asked to be placed on a call list for cancellations and was told "we don't do that you can call every week to see if somethng opened up". It's very unfortunate that my 1 year milestone will now be anticlimatic having to wait 2 additional months to check in with Dr. Boe.
Sadly disappointed.

I am so sorry you are disappointed. I can understand the situation. Both from the patient side and the office side. On the office side, it's hard. The doc only has so many hours to see patients in the office, between surgeries and making rounds with post-ops. So schedules can be tight and limited. It's hard to fit everyone in sometimes. I know that very well with being on the doctors office end of things. All I can say is that it means you have such a good doctor, he is always booked and busy. And that means you may have to wait as annoying as that is.
On the patient side, I am often irritated when I can't get in to an appt within a decent amount of time. So I feel your pain. Definately call often to get fit in though. People cancel all the time. You had to, and so there was an opening for your appt for someone else. So keep calling and I bet you get in sooner.
And your one year milestone doesn't have to be anticlimatic. Just look back at all you have accomlished this past year. things only you can know, explain and feel. Things no doc appt will reveal. Although the labs, and "hey you are doing great" from the doc are nice. Your personal accomplishment of weight loss, and activity is your true measure of success 1 year post op.
Congrats on one year out. You journey still continues and good luck to you.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Teresa, I totally understand your frustration. I hate when I have to wait a long time for an appointment. JoJo made some really good points about waiting. Don't forget, too, that Dr Boe and Dr Pupkova are absorbing a lot of Dr Marymour's patient load. And I'm with JoJo---don't let it take away from your surgiversary. You've done great!!!!
You're certainly a real inspiration and mentor to me!!!
