one week from now....(thanks for letting me "purge")
I will join many of you on the losers bench. Wow...what a rollercoaster of emotions. I know this is all normal, but I go from disgust (how did i ever even get this way), excitement(this is the last March 25 that my feet will hurt this much when i walk), fear(what if it doesn't work, or I wind up one of those who put it back on), frustration(with others....doubters), and others i can't begin to describe.
I have my "last supper" planned...a night with friends dining on king crab and wine....then start my 4 day liquid pre-op diet on Saturday for the grand finale' on April 1st.
I want to thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. It's so helpful to read these posts and realize that you have all been here, and that we are all on this journey together.

Good luck to you! Just wanted to let you know that eventhough it's a rollercoaster, it's one heck of a ride. You'll be glad you took it. From experience, I would have to say that you're asking yourself all the right questions and having all the appropriate thoughts. It looks to me like you're trying to cover all the bases, and that's good. It makes you feel ready. Again, good luck. Let us know how you make out.
Sounds oh so familiar and so "normal" So many of us have been through those same things!! Work through your emotions, each and every one of them in preparation for your surgery. It will help :)
Can't wait to follow your journey with you - I'm sure you will do great as it sounds that you already on the right track!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/thumbsup2.gif)

I can say from experience that you are in great hands. Dr. Ku and his staff are wonderful. Follow his advice and their program and you will do well. I had my lap rny in June 2007 and have never regretted my decision. I've lost 104 pounds and feel great. It isn't easy, but it's so worth it. Good luck,Eileen
Good morning and congratulations on your upcoming surgery - so many emotions at this time, but you're going to do great!
When I opened your post my eyes popped out of my head - you look exactly like my younger sister!! I honestly had to look at the photo a couple of times and read your name, location, etc. to be certain you weren't her - man, they say everybody has a twin - I found hers!
Wish you all the best on your journey - its going to be amazing...

One more week... good luck to you. I am now just over a month out and it sure is a rollercoaster. I have gone from a married person with little to no self esteem to someone who has had the surgery, is getting divorced and moving out on her own. All it took, seriously, was meeting this group of people to give me the self confidence and positive energy to take my life by the horns and realize that I am strong enough to move on and be on my own!!!
I will be living in Whitehall so I am not too far away. If you need anything, let me know. You can call anytime. 610-504-3867 or PM me!

Wow- glad to hear I'm not the only one. It struck me last night- totally terrifed - couldn't sleep.
Today I'm on the rollercoaster and just trying to focus on the positive.
So glad to know I'm not the only one feeling this way (and I still have a month
until surgery).
Sounds like we are all " normal" then going through all these emotions and fears!
