Alright Ladies - Undies Question

Alright - well with spring here and hopefully being able to stop wearing my heavy sweaters soon I need to start looking at some kind of a body shaper - I have a roll right above by belly button that goes just past my hips. Obviously I need something comfortable or I won't wear it - I was on the Spanx website and saw 1 things that might work - it was like a bike short that goes all the way up to your bra line - my fear is them rolling down or riding up.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Liz

I would either check out the Reading VF outlet (they have a big selection of stuff) or Kolhs... they also have a big selection too... and just try things on because that is what you are going to need to do... lol... and it is a great workout let me tell ya...

Mashalls also had some stuff... but it was very limited...

I was afraid that you were going to say that.... I don't like trying things on! lol I'm not a good contortionist! Maybe I will stop at Kohl's next week on my way home, and Marshall's is right next door....

Thanks for the advice!

lol whimp...

I would start with the light control... it isn't as bad as the firm stuff I was trying on... some times it helps to have someone with you to have them look...

So you toss on one of the control tops... then toss a shirt on and let them see what it looks like... because i know that at times my views are skued funny lol...

Man, isn't it a killer that we lose all this weight and STILL have to wear what are basically girdles to hold it all in?? I haven't broken down yet but I know the day is coming and like you said, soon.

My biggest problem area are my thighs - OMG they are so nasty. Well, okay - upper arms aren't the greatest either but I've never worn sleeveless and don't see me starting now. But my butt cheeks feel like they're sitting on the backs of my thighs and my thighs are wiggly, jiggly and just plain ugly, so I know Spanx are in my future, but like you I'm afraid of that roll-down thing from my stomach, and god I really don't want to wear a body suit type of thing.

So many women I know swear by Spanx, but man, they're not cheap. Ladies I work with who are in their 50's have taken to wearing them to hold in their 'fluffy' thighs and bellies, and they haven't had WLS. And I know I'd love to finally start wearing lighter colored pants because I never could before (legs were way too big), but I definitely need something holding all that in because they'll still look nasty if I don't.

Not ready for plastics yet - will be someday, tho, and the first thing getting worked on are those thighs!! I bet I could lose a whole other pant size once I get them trimmed down to size.

My upper thighs arne't pretty but Chris has never complained! lol and he is the only one who has to see them! My problem area has always been my belly. I can tuck the lower part (my Panni) in but this upper roll drives me CRAZY!! My waist is the smallest I can remember it being and I'd be happy to stay in a 14/16 but I would LOVE to get rid of this damn spare tire! I would love plastics - but babies first... and well don't know if we'll ever be able to afford it.

Thanks for the input!

Liz- I feel you pain.  I bought some undies that are controll top that go all the way to under my bra- but it kept rolling down- so what was the pont???  I found this on-line but they are also available on QVC.com- yes expensive but does work.

PS- It's a total pain when you have to use the bathroom- so I only wear it for special occasions.

EDIT: I have seen Spanx where there are loops that wrap through your bra to stop the roll down- but I was afraid that the loops would pull my bra down and make my girls hang low- and I don't need that!

Thanks Vicki! I will check those out.

I know having to go to the bathroom must be a nightmare and as often as I go! lol

I was even thinking of something that was a bathing suit kind of configuration - bra and panties in one.

I know that they cost more but Spanx are really good and worth the money and also Dr. Ray's shapewear. HE is on HSN and HSN Online you can also find his line at Sears. HE makes his stuff to fit a womans areas like he would if he did surgery on you. I think to oay a little more and get better results is better then buying a bunch of cheaper items and not using them.

I know Pam is swears by Spanx as well. Also you can check Ebay!

Good Luck my girlfriend!

THanks Beth! I would definately like to buy one that works well even if it costs a little more - as long as it is comfortable and works!

THanks for the input!

ALso, I wasn't sure if they would let you try them on (like panties) or if I'd have to sneak them in the dressing room! lol
