Blood Panel Question
However i really think I need to educate myself on what these follow ups should consist of.
Can any of you veterans share with me what blood panels should be ordered at 6 months? 12 months? etc. or is it always the same?
Melanie,
I am sorry that you have lost your surgeon Dr Marymore but I know that Dr Pupkova made me get the same tests at 3, 6, 9 and 1 year checkups. Usually she wanted my iron, B12, Vitamin D along with normal cholestrol, thyroid and fasting test I guess to make sure my sugars are okay.
I hope this helps but I know that they are the same each time for Dr Pupkova's patients. Good Luck to you and you are lucky that your doctor has experience with RNY patients. I thought Dr Boe and Dr Pupkova were covering for Dr Marymore's "old" patients at least that is what somebody posted over here sometime ago.
CBC w/ diff
CMP including Mg, Phos, Calcium
TSH
Folate
B12
Vit D
Vitamin B1
HDL
LDL
Total Chol
Good luck!!

As for Dr Boe or Dr. P - I called and it appears I was assigned to Dr. Boe and then I was told his first appointment was end of April (I called over a month ago) That for me was pretty much unacceptable to wait 3 months for an appointment and I'm sure with 2 surgeons they're very backed up, but regardless it kind of pissed me off and I figured I'd go to my primary and take it from there.

Mel ,the same thing happen to me with the appointment and it ticked me so that's that for me. I'm seeing my primary she is a Jefferson doctor and they just started doing bariactric care/procedures so I'm being treated by her tell I find out where Dr. Marymour will be. My primary is also a post-op patient. You look fabulous by the way.
