stall already?
Hello all.. yesterday was one month for me. I have not lost a single pound or ounce in the last week. I am not eating much and trying to get my liquids in. I have done a bit of walking. Is this normal?
I am going to try to get out and do some walking every day to see if that helps. Other than that, I just wanted to see if it was normal for me to stall out this early?![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/mad.gif)
I'm trying not to get frustrated. I'm assuming that my body has just gotten used to the little bit that I am consuming and is now fighting against me. Help me out my friends, PLEASE

Like Liz said - Totally Normal!! How often are you weighing yourself right now? I only weighed in when I saw the surgeon for the first 9 months because I read of too many horror stories on here about how your body can mess with you right after surgery. Don't weigh yourself every day - put the scale away for now and let your body settle into its new life because right now it thinks you're starving to death so its going to hold on to whatever it can, but eventually it will see that you're not starving and the pounds will start falling off.
So no panicking!! Relax, drink your water and get as much protein in as possible, and walk - the pounds are going to come off, trust me.

Ditto to what Liz said. No need to get frustrated this soon. when in your life have you ever lost this amount of weight in this amount of time. It's wonderful, but it's also our bodies we are dealing with. It's alot of adjustment and give yourself the time it needs to get into gear.
You are doing great......hang in there and continue to follow your post op guidelines.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
The dreaded 3-6 week mark stall. Soooo totally normal. Your body has figured out you are "starving" and to compensate for this it is holding on to everything it's got.
Dennis worded it once "but it (your body) won't win. Not if you keep doing what you need to do" And he's soooo right. The weight will come off, you just need to wait it out.
I know your food choices are limited this early out but if you can mix up what you normally eat, sometimes that helps.
Hang in there!

Thank you all for putting into words what I really did know. I am not going to get frustrated..or at least try not to. I have a bunch of errands to run today, but I will be sure to bring my water with me. I knew what you all were going to say, just needed to hear it. I have never lost more than 20 lbs on any other diet of tried and to know that I am already down 32 in just a month is just insane!!!
Thanks again!! Love you guys!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/kiss.gif)

Lisa -
I just want to echoe what everyone else has already said - TOTALLY NORMAL. Try not to be a scale slave (much much harder said than done).
If you havent already done so - take your measurements and pictures. On the morning of my surgery I took a front, side and back of myself. I take these same poses on the monthly anniversary of my surgery (still do at 15 months out).
Also on that date I take the following measurements -
neck
above my breasts
breasts
just below my breasts
abdomen (waist)
belly (the biggest part around)
hips
L & R thigh
L & R calf
L & R upper arm
L & R forearm
When you encounter a stall (and there will be more along your journey) - these pictures and measurements will be your saving grace - they will help minimize the agony of the scale stall.
CONGRATS on your new life and the decision to have the surgery - the road ahead is full of work and wow moments. Keep blogging as we are all here at various points in our journeys and can help.
