pericolace

This past year I had my first colonoscopy as a routine screening. My gastroenterologist knew that I had a r-n-y, and I mentioned that I took pericolace on a fairly regular basis. I don't remember the name of the condition, but he recommended that I not take pericolace regularly. Whatever negative condition it is, starts with a discoloration of the insides of your digestive track, this then develops into something more serious alot of times. He recommended that I switch to miralax. I just though I'd put this out there so folks can look into this further with their own GI docs and decide what product is best for them. Sorry I can't be more informative/specific about the condition.

Another idea is to try Benefiber's product. It's 100% tasteless and disolves instantly. I mix it with all kinds of different drinks. I even add it to meals when I can, and no one knows! (ex. spaghetti sauce, certain pastas, soups...)

It's inexpensive and it's a way to add fiber without feeling like you are eating cardboard.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I've noticed the bottle of peri colace says not to take longer than 7 days.  Thanks for the info!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Yikes, I take it everyday.  Both my Primary and Dr. Boe know this.  But ya know, we all need to be more proactive about our medications and the effect they have on our bodies.  I better do some research.  Thanks for letting us know.
