So after panicing yesterday, I lost 4 pounds in one day.....

I did make SOME better choices (though not too far off from my regular day)....so- lesson learned- STOP FREAKING OUT OVER THE SCALE. ..and continue good choices....

Thanks for all the support!

Glad to hear that some of the weight came off...

FIRST STEP-  PUT THE DARN SCALE AWAY! You are about a year 1/2 out - weigh yourself once a week or better yet - once a month! The scale will be the death of you - weight fluctuates daily depending on a lot of factors - how much salt you ate, how much you drink/etc, poop etc.

Here's to the scale going in the right direction!

I put my scale away. I found if I have it where I can easily hop on it, I began becoming obsessed with it. It is tucked in the closet. so I have to make an effort to weigh myself and it's not always there yelling at me to get on it.

Personally, I don't weight myself at home at all right now because I am pregnant, but when not preggo, I would weigh myself every friday morning after my shower. I made it a routine and that was the ONLY time I was allowed to do it. Otheriwse I would become obsessed.

I am glad it was just a "panic". You know how to keep on track and I am sure you will continue.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

That's fantastic news Jen! That stinking scale can really mess with our heads sometimes. I'm so happy that so much came off in one day - being a woman our bodies are constantly messing with us, too.

Sounds like you're feeling better about things? Awesome!! And you'll probably have another freak out over the scale somewhere along the way - just remember if you're doing most of the right things (do any of us do it all?? Nah) then you'll be fine.

Stay off the damn scale now.  Chances are it may fluctuate tomorrow and there is no need for that smiling face of yours to be controlled by some damn number.  You're to important for that.

First  - we can all say hide the scale - but I am a closet scale junkie and suffer the same frustrations from time to time.  Seems just when I get a couple of pounds down - the scale does this little up and down on 3 pounds for like a week then the drop again.  I hate it!  But not enough obviously to put the scale away - LOL.

As for the 5 pound poops - gotta love it when we have a good healthy bowel movement.  Who else among us looks when we are done and tries to guesstimate if its going to drop the scale by a pound or two....

I'm totally with Norm on this one. I'm only 6 months out, so I have nothing on you guys, but I HAVE to weigh myself daily to keep myself in check.

I don't obsess if I gain a pound here and there and I also don't obsess if I don't loose any weight in a week. It's just part of my life now, I'm vigilant about my weight. I know that for me fluctuations are going to be normal. It's the 5lbs that I put on that dont come off in 5-7 days that signal me I'm up to no good.

Thanks for sharing, you've always been a role model to me, and you look great!
