Hey. Well, they ended up admitting my niece to Holly Hill ( adolescent Psych Hospital) last night. They found that she had carved her BF's name into her arm after he broke up with her. She is a mess I saw a pic of her arm it is awful. Kim had to comiit her last night.  I think that we are going to take her out of school and once she is stable go ahead and start the duke IOP for OCD  thing now, I think KIm finally sees how necessary this is.  she is such a sick child, this OCD just rules her existence moment to moment and it is heart breaking. If it takes this for Kim to quit being in denial then so be it, but i am sad that she is scared and alone in this psych hospital. Nic

Nichole this is heartbreaking, but your niece is hopefully in the right place where she can get help and not do more harm to herself. Its so hard to understand why these kids do these things - don't know if we'll ever understand.

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers...Kathy

Well I am glad she is where she can get some help. I have no first hand knowledge about any of this so I have no advice. I just want to send my thoughts and well wishes her way. I can only imagine it is tough and scary so any prayers and vibes she gets will help. Faith in numbers=results.

My thoughts are with you and your sister as well, as I am sure this is not easy.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Nicole - unfortunately this sounds like a necessary evil. I hope that this poor young lady can get the help she needs and go on to have a productive wonderful life that she deserves! I am praying for strength for you and your sister to do what is necessary to help your neice - she is in the best of hands!

Nic.  Im sorry your family is going through this. Some times the hards things people have to do for their kids are the best things in the long run.  Its good your sister is seeing what needs to be done.  They are lucky to have you to help support them.

 Nicole,
Hopefully you can think of clients who experienced similar behaviors and once stable and in the right environment, they thrived.  I know of a few.

Will continue praying for your sister and her daughter.

Nicole,
I am sorry your family is going thru this. Hugs and prayers going out for you and your family. I feel your pain as we had to commit my mother last November for 5 days for a psych evaluation when she had a complete nervous breakdown.

The guilty and the heartache my dad, sister and I felt was beyond description but after a lot of different anti-depressant drugs she is stabilized and much happier. My parents now have a whole different relationship. Your niece will see life does go on after a heartbreak like hers. Please take care of yourself and give us a holler if you need anything.

**Hugs coming your way**

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

Nicole, sweetie, sorry for the late response.  I haven't had a chance until now to try to catch up.  I'm so sorry your niece is so ill.  Thank God she has a good family who loves her and supports her through all this.  I'll say a prayer for her, and for you, too.  I hope all turns out well.  Hang in there Auntie Nicole.
