HI Everyone,

I am new and I just got home from the hospital this afternoon after having RNY on Wednesday. I am feeling great, although I think the food withdrawl is setting in. My discharge doctor started talking about chocolate donuts and now that is all I can think about. Does everyone go through the food withdrawl thing?

Thanks so much and I look forward to becoming a more active member on this board.
Christine

Welcome home and to the losers bench!

The head hunger is ridiculous at times but it does get better and you do get better at handling it.  I like Liz cried one night because my hubby was eating pizza.  I was getting nauscious just from my yogurt, mind you, but I wanted the pizza.

Look forward to following your journey with you!

Pam

And who in the right mind told your d/c doctor it was ok to talk about chocolate donuts?  Ridiculous!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Welcome home and congrats on joining us on the losers bench

I am 16 days out from RNY and so far have only had one or two brief "moments" with food.  I still think of having a piece of pizza, but the urge isnt overwhelming at all.  Yesterday i had a short thought of a fish sandwhich but it passed quickly also.  Guess so far i am lucky, no major issues with food withdrawal or head hunger.  Hopefully it wont hit me like a brick later.

LOL i have to laugh because on day 6 post op i had my physician f/u visit and had my drain pulled.  My friend wanted to visit a local candy shop (Sarris Candies...my absolute fav) so we went.  I was amazed, walking around the candy shop didnt even phase me one bit.  Guess that was my first WOW moment.
