Ok, so this morning I called out sick... went and saw the PCP and he said don't I dare go back... yeah I got the idea lol... well I want to give the jerk (oh I mean the manager) a letter that I am quiting for health reason... aka you gym makes me sick... my doc is writing up a follow up care letter... not a formal letter (because that is 75 bucks and I don't have it) unless I get a lawyer... don't have the money for that either... so... anyone have any ideas how to write a letter like this?

I do like the idea a friend gave me... get an old poopy diaper (you know bottom of the trash can old) and a sign and put the gym sucks on it... and set the diaper on fire on their doorsteps lol... it made me sort with laughter...

Tonight I have an info metting to go to about a possible job, tomorrow at 5 an interview, Monday at 1pm another interview, and one on Weds at 11am... so keep the prayers up... and today I feel kind of normal for once... cheer!

Hi Shannon,

It might be worth it to come up with the $75 bucks to get an official doctor's letter.  Although voluntary quit is a reason to deny unemployment compensation - quitting for a necessitious and compelling reason does not impede eligibility.  I don't know the whole story here, but if the work place is making you sick and  they are not offering you work in an environment that would not make you sick  plus you have a doctor backing you up you are likely eligible for benefits  - should the new job not come through right away the $$ can come handy.   Google Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Law and you  can read the regulation yourself.  You might also call your local legal aid office and ask to speak to an attorney who deals with unemployment compensation.  Having them pay an unemployment charge beats the poopy diaper cause it hits where it hurts in the $$$.

Rhonda's got a good point, Shannon - I know $75 isn't easy to come by when you're quitting a job, but unemployment is very important since you don't have a new job to go to and with the 'official' letter there is no way they can turn you down for unemployment.

Plus no matter how much you dislike this place or the people it is never good to burn bridges - vent to us, spout off about how ignorant they are - whatever - but don't put it in writing to them.

You're going to be fine and should be feeling a lot better already just knowing you don't have to go back there, but if you can possibly scrape the $75 together I'm sure it will repay you many times over.

Best of luck with all this - you've been thru a lot but I know it'll work out for you.

Shannon last time I heard someone told me that in order to collect unemployement you have to be advailable to work so if you cite health reasons I know its stress its a touchy situation. So careful check with a labor lawyer before putting anything in writting. They are so anal at unemployment. Loved the diaper idea. Hmmmm I can think of a few people I would like to do that to.  Take it wasy. Reminds me of how kids used to put a pile of dog doo on someone's step. set it on fire and watch the person answering the door stomp on it.  Now thats a oldie but goodie. Don't give me any ideas I am feeling evil lately.  Zoom!
