As we have done in months past we will be gathering for an afternoon of food, fun and support. I promise that you won't leave hungry for food or information!

Saturday March 21st 2009
noon - ????

65 Raubsville Road
Easton, PA 18042

cell  - 610-462-1204 (for those of you with my home number it is going to be changing this week - I'll post the new one, in the mean time it is better to get me on my cell!)

We will focus on recipes that are healthy and satisfying. If you have any food item that you miss since your sugery and would like to see made WLS friendly let me know! I LOVE a challenge!! We will try to adapt some Easter / Passover favorites!

If any of our Jewish members can help me out with some traditional Passover foods I would appreciate it! I know the basics of cooking Kosher (no meat and dairy, no pork or seafood) but would appreciate something beyond the basics so that I can help you!

We do ask for a small donation to help cover expenses - or you can bring an item - things that we are always in need of on cooking class days - plastic forks, sandwich sized paper plates, crystal light drink mixes (individual sizes), zip lock bags (sandwich/quart size).

Thanks all!!! You can PM me, e-mail or post with any questions or comments!

Thanks!

As promised, I have a recipe for you to try... Kugel  -Jewish noodle pudding.  One of the guys I work with says it's the best thing on the passover table.  He couldn't give me a recipe, but I did see a bunch on the web when i did a search.

Also, he mentioned Fried Motza, but i can't imagine how to make that healthier

mmm sounds good! I think that Lisa was trying to find a kugel recipe too - I had one planned that is all veggies! No potatoes.

Thanks for doing the Passover research!

I will be making and bringing the recipe for a potato/zucchini kugel, so I don't know if you'd  want to have a noodle one too.  Fried matzoh.. can't see how to make healthier except using egg beaters, but I think the matzoh would kill us all.  It's rough on the belly to begin with, I can only imagine what it would do to the pouch.  UGH

I know right. But fried anything sounds DELICIOUS! Deadly, but delicious none the less.

Are you making kugel or latkes?

I know Latkes are made with potatoes or veggies, I think Kugel might be something else ( I could totally be wrong though I just know what I hear around the office)

The keugel recipe I have is with veggies and eggs. Not the latkes (OMG one of my favorites! lol but potatoes... one of those "bleached blonde carbs") doused in sour cream and apple sauce.... OK I think that I need to go get my yogurt! lol
