A few things
I thought I'd make two suggestions, and they are only suggestions.
First, my daughter found a protein bar she really likes from the web. Here is the info;
Power Crunch by BNRG
Calories 200
Fat 12 g
Sat fat 5 g
Trans fat 0 g
Cholesterol 0 mg
Sodium 100 mg
Potassium 90 mg
Total Carbs 10 g
Dietary Fiber 1 g
Sugars 5 g
Protein 13 g
They come in boxes of 12 and each bar is 1.4 ounces. I can't vouch because of my allergy to whey, but I thought I'd pass it on. She found them on Amazon.com at the Vitamin Shoppe Store Front with a 99 cent shipping fee and under $13.75 a box. That's just over a buck a bar.
My second suggestion is related to my recent membership at Planet Fitness. The membership costs me a total of $10 a month after a $59 sign up fee. Once a year in October they charge me a $29 fee and that's it. They are a no frills gym with everything I need. They preach "no judgement" and their not kidding. There are people of all sizes and shapes and the gym is open 24 hours a day Monday thru Friday. the weekends are 7a-7p. They have machines to spot train, a million treadmills and ellipticals as well as arc trainers. Free weights and circuits are also available. You can pay $19 and change a month for a more comprehensive membership that let's you use other locations, their tanning booths and massage chairs. That's all beyond what I'm looking for, so the $10 fee is right on my budget. For that price, I have me, my daughter and my husband going for less than the price of one membership for the place across the street from my house. Planet fitness also doesn't allow a bunch of muscle heads run around grunting while they lift weights and drop them for attention. It' a bargain that's hard to beat...unless of course you buy a membership and don't use it.
One more thing. In basically 3 1/2 years since my bypass, I have never suffered from a single stomach virus. I thought maybe my little pouch was too small for anything to "grab hold" of the tissues. That may be true, but about two weeks ago something was definitely bigger than me. MUCH bigger than me. It got me and it got me good. 7 pounds and only 12 hours later, it left it's mark. It got weirder. 5 days later I was still tired, sluggush and unable to lose a strong nauseous feeling everytime I ate. My BFF, Dennis told me to stop eating solids even thoguh I could tolerate them and go back to liquids-he was right as I felt somewhat better and Dr Brader agreed as well. Despite the more gentle diet, I just couldn't get enough sleep and I looked like hell. Finally, I visited with the PCP and found out that the simple 12 hours of dry heaving (for me, once it's past the pouch it's gone forever) and diarrhea had left me very low on potassium despite drinking plenty of fluid and eating plenty of soup and crackers. A couple of days and a couple of potassium supplements each of those days, and I was better than ever. Keep track of yourself, and if you do get sick and it takes more than 2 or 3 days to really recover go see someone and let them think it through with you.
Oh, one more thing. I get the coolest t-shirts made by www.spreadhshirts.com. My latest reads "Got Gastric Bypass?" on the front and "Respect the Pouch" on the back. I get great comments when I wear it!
I bid you health, community and successing.

The Power Crunch bars are really good! My nutritionist has me eating one of these first thing in the morning on one of the meal plans she put together for me.... She eats them as well! I have the cinnamon bun flavor and it's very tasty but might be too sweet for some taste buds.
