Prayers and Good Wishes for One of Our Own...
I wanted to put a post out here for a very dear friend of mine and a fellow Barix RNY'r - Donna P from NJ. Dr. Boe did Donna's surgery on 12/3/2007 and she had done an incredible job! Her pictures are now hanging up in the lobby at Barix - look for her.
Anyway - very shortly after her surgery last year, her husband became very very ill and she has moved heaven and earth to be by his side and care for him as well as start her own journey of Weight Loss This includes a few surgeries and dialysis 5 - 6 times a week. He has been touch and go on and off. He was turned down by the transplant hospital 2 months ago because his BMI was too high. He has since lost enough and had an appointment to go back for a new evaluation for the transplant which was a good thing.
Last Friday, they received a telephone call from the Cardiologist and the news was not good - they are preparing for a major cardiac surgery this week (3/20). He needs this to live, but may not be strong enough to make it through the surgery.
Donna is a pillar of stregnth. She is an incredible woman and her husband Frank is also a wonderful man. Donna has been to a couple of our meetings and Frank was there once as well. Please join me in prayers and well wishes them.
