8 days
8 days and counting down. I am so excited that my surgery day is getting so close. I am keeping busy so the time is gonig sort of fast. I am trying to get most of my "spring cleaning" done before my big day. I also have to admit that I have fallen into the stupid "last meal" mentality, but even though I am eating foods that aren't good for me I haven't gained any weight I am at least holding steady. My kids are passing around a stomach flu now and I am praying that I don't get that. But you know how it is the Mom usually gets whatever the kids are sharing. Have a really good evening every one, hoping ya'll are feeling great and stay that way.
And don't worry about that last meal mentality. I will bet if everyone was completely honest, they had a big meal, or a favorite meal or indulged before they had to buckle it down get serious. I know I certainly did.
I hope you stay healthy the next week and good luck. Keep us posted!
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Old Man Rafferty's in New Brunswick, NJ (A really good restaurant whose slogan is "life is short, eat dessert first)
Rutgers "Fat" sandwhich (yes, that's what they are called)
Stromboli with sausage and extra cheese from Stuff Yer Face
Blooming Onion from Outback
Vanilla custard with sprinkles in a waffle cone
There was more - I'm sure of it.
So no, you are not alone in the whole last meal thing. Two weeks prior to my PATs hubby and I went out almost every night to a restaurant of my choice to have my favorite thing from there. Also why I gained weight and ended up for the two weeks before my surgery (after PATs) being on a liquid diet or my surgery would be cancelled if I didn't lose that weight.
Anyway - you are soooo close! Whoo hoo!!! You'll be on the bench in no time!

These next 8 days will fly by and before you know it, you'll be getting wheeled into the OR.
<-------------------------sliding down to make room on the bench
I had the last mean mentality also. My daughter made it even worse by saying.....this will be the last time you have this! I'm 4 months post-op and I'm finding out I can have things that I never thought I would again. I just eat tiny amounts of them. Sure there are certain things I'd never think of trying but I honestly dont care. I love the weightloss and how it makes me feel.
I pray this week goes fast for you.

7 days now!! Woo-hoo - it'll be here before you know it!! My last big 'fling' before starting my 10 day clear liquid diet prior to surgery was going to Chickie's & Pete's in South Philly and throwing down a whole lot of Miller Lite and their awesome crabby fries - I think we all do it.
You're going to do great -- you're such an active part of the boards and I know that is one of the biggest things that has helped me my journey.
We're all sliding over to make room on the Loser's Bench - come on down!!
