Son of a B*****- more sinus headaches

Okay, I thought I was done all this sinus crap.  On February 18 I have sinus surgery.  It goes great, I feel little, if any discomfort, not like the one I had in 1996.  Then, five days later, the earpain starts.  I see the doc and he says that swelling in the healing sinuses is causing fluid not to drain from my ears and he gives me more drugs to help, and tells me I can go back to work in two days.  I go back to work, and am in agony because of the earache.  Thank God I only work two days and we have the gift of a weekend, with a snowday added on Monday.  I go back to work on Tuesday, the 3rd, and am in agony.  I develop a migraine from the earpain and go home from work crying.  (I gave birth to 2 ten and a half pound baby boys, NATURALLY, and did not suffer as much as this earpain.)  I take the rest of last week off work, and by Sunday the ear pain is almost gone.  BUT, we have the freaking time change and I have trouble waking up for work, and feel icky in my head.  Then, I bend over on Tuesday, and ***** water starts to drain out of my nose.  I call the doctor today, because it did not go away yesterday, and it is a post-operative sinus infection.  I am back on antibiotics.  He says this is normal and I say it is a royal pain.

So, I am feeling like crap, still.  I went back to my allergist's and he said I need new allergy tests done, as my last tests were in 2002.  Guess what.  In order to get those tests done, I must go off my allergy medicines.  I dread that, because they keep my sinuses from clogging up and getting infected, when I am healthy.  I can't schedule that testing till I am fully recuperated from the sinus surgery, which does not look like any time soon.

So, I am just whining but just had to share what has been happening with me.

Huggles,
Trish

Oh Trish, I feel so bad for you. I can't imagine having to deal with that crap EVERY freaking day! I surely hope they get this figured out and you can have some relief.

I am hoping for a smooth recovery so you can take the next step and nip this thing in the bud. It has to be very frustrating for you.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Whine and share away Trish!

I tried to post this last night - but my computer wouldn't cooperate.  I think it hit overload...I was watching things on ebay, uploading photos from my camera, changing my avatar, checking my email...and it finally said ENOUGH and wouldn't let me post!

Anywho....hopefully this will clear up and your allergy stuff won't be quite as bad with the new sinus passages.

I am so sorry to hear that you are still having sinus trouble. My dad had sinus surgery several years ago and was living with me at the time. So I know how horrible the healing process can be. (((hugs)))) Hoping you are feeling better very soon.

I had to deal with allergies and shots and all of that. No surgery for the sinus for me. I can sympathize with you. I would rather have had my shoulder surgery than sinus. Will zyrtech help you?   My doctor usually prescribes levaquin for my sinus infections. I know how you feel and hope you feel better soon.  Its frustrating darned it you do and darned if you don't.  I can remember having the allergy test done and by the time it was done I wanted to kill the girl doing the test because I felt poked and proded and was so nasty by the time it was over .  There had to be a better way.  and my allergies turned out to be envionmental I was surprised I figured I'd be allergic to my dogs, cats, birds and horses. Luckily for me I wasn't. Feel better soon.

Not sure if its an insurance option or not for you but have you thought of going to a chiropractor??  I started going about 2 mos. ago for my back and neck and low and behold my sinuses which are usually clogged opened right up after he started adjusting my neck regularly.   Chronic computer work and big boobs gave me "forward head position".   He says its also a common treatment for babies as their passages are often blocked when teething due to nerve irritation resulting in some getting tubes put in unnecessarily.  Its all interrelated.   Here's a site that tells about some of it.

Hi Jackie,
I had been seeing a chiropractor for years, but I was still needing the allergy shots and having the chronic infections.  I am allergic to the world, indoors and outdoors.  I don't have the sneezy, drippy nose allergies.  My sinuses are asthmatic, like my lungs.  They just close up when an allergen is in my air.  Then, I get sick because they don't drain.  Voila!!!  Infection.  Problem is, the last infection series I had was started in October.  I was on and off antibiotics from October till February.

I am hoping with new allergy tests, shots and the surgery, I can have some relief for a while.  I will see if I can come up with the co-pay to return to the chiropractor in a few months.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hugs,
Trish
