I can never been normal... I'm home
Ok...so you are sooooo not gonna like my reply, lol but I'll tell you what I tell all my patients...hospitals are NO place to sleep. We understand you are tired...but our job is to keep poking and prodding you and doing stupid things to see where you are in the course of treatment.
As far as waiting an hour until the transporter came in to take you to CT scan (even though you ended up not having one done) they were waiting on bloodwork to come back. Prior to certain cat scans being done they need certain blood work, which, at least in the two hospitals I work at, takes at LEAST 1 hour to come back - most of the time 1 1/2 hours. And LVH has a huge pediatric/ob/gyn program including high risk and a NICU and all that stuff and the new guidelines are that one cat scan will not affect the mother or the baby while pregnant. We have OB consulted on ALL of our pregnant women and do cat scans on most of them now if their symptoms require it.
The monitor not being applied until you were in observation status...fairly normal....LVH is the first facility I've worked at that keeps all their patients on the monitor the whole time they are on. I'm used to only patients coming in with something like chest pain or shortness of breath or who are actively "bleeding out" being kept on monitors.
Sorry you didn't get any answers - it's never fun being in an ER - even the nurses will attest to that fact, LOL Hope things go better soon!!!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/thumbsup2.gif)

I didn't mention the CT scan thing but you are right. You CAN have one while pregnant. Many precautions are taken. While I was in the ER in January, I had a CT done due to extemely high fevers and dizziness.
I also had one with my oldest when I was preggo. They thought there was something wrong with my liver and the US did not show enough.
So if they felt the symptoms require a CT, they can do them. It's just not done unless there is a good reason.
I certainly hope whatever the pain was, was a fluke and just goes away, or......I hope they figure it out quickly............

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Shannon I hope you are feeling better today. I had to chuckle when you said sleep in the hospital. Wrong place to expect to sleep at. When I had my heart surgery for the stents I was poked and prodded all night and day, when I had my gastric I wanted to sink my teeth into the nurses but didn't out of respect and when I got home after being at barix for 3 days I warned George and Heather that if they woke me up it had better be because the house was on fire and grabbed my springer spaniel Elton and went to sleep and he slept next to me the whole time because George told me the dog went crazy because mommy wasn't home and nope you do not sleep in the hospital. I hope everything turns out OK.
