When will I Learn??
*Not to eat fast and on the go
*Not to drink water after eating
*Not to wait to eat until I feel like I am going to faint
*Not to try Rice when I had multiple problems whenever I have tried it.
*Not to eat bread when I know that it just sits in my pouch and makes it prissy.
You think after being almost 15 months out I would learn these WLS lessons but I just don't . I don't even want to tell you that I did not fulfill my protein requirement today. I know that in the past there have been days where I have not met my goals but lately I am struggling with this more so then ever before and it scares my as further we are out these things are important. I guess the bigger question is how do I learn to eat right when for almost 40 years I have not done so...

1) I chew chew chew and take my time and make time for my meals my meals are my body's fuel .
2) I purposely get a drink after my meals like I don't put my drink on the table while I am eating.
3) I schedule my meals such as 7 am protein shake, 11 am snack, 12:30pm lunch you know what I mean.
4) It only takes me one time to dump from something like rice and not go back for more.
5) I had bread and it had me. No thank you although I heard Arnold Thins are good.
I know we are creatures of habit and its tough. Its always goning to be a struggle and we know that which is why we are here for each other. I don't think all of us meet our protein requirements or fluid either. I for one try to do my best and thats all we all can do. It will take time to eat right and you already took lots of steps to do that so you have to give yourself credit for it. I know I do give you and everyone here lots and lots of credit. I for one am proud of all of us. I really mean that. Take care sweetie.

I will officially be 30 months out tomorrow and I still haven't learned some of this stuff....I blame it on my hard head. I am hoping by 30 years out, I will have it all down pat. We spent a life time learning bad habits, it will take a while for us to unlearn them. We need to learn to be mindful eaters. The year before I had surgery, I spent two weeks at an all womens health spa up in vermont....it was all about mindful eating. I would love to go back at some point....I am sure I would walk away with a totally different outlook now than I did then.
I use post it notes with things i need to be mindful of...."drink water" " take vitamins" "sugar is the Devil" LOL You get the picture....maybe it would work for you too.
