Wednesday Roll Call

Where are all you ridiculous early risers at?

I'm never first one on the boat for roll call!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a good day.

We had freinds over to visit last night, and it was a really nice evening. They brought their young sons, so the hosue was exploding with noise and acitivty at levels otherwise unknown to these parts!

I'd much rather stay in bed right now, but I'm hainvg some Special K protein Plus, then heading off to the gym, and then to a busy day at work.

It's a double gym day, and those are always a bit taxing, but Mary is an early out at work today, so it will be nice to come home and have her there when I get there.

NORM'S RULE FOR THE DAY:

NO LURKING. You look at this post, you reply. I want to hear from everybody today.

Let's hear about your day!

Yes Sir!

Good Morning! I am here at work for what should be a slightly calmer day then yesterday - I am starting to get a back log of jobs and would really like to get caught up.

After work I need to get the house straightened up a bit, mop the kitchen floor and hopefully get in some time on the Wii Fit. Nothing too exciting planned.

Enjoy wedding wednesday Norm & Mary!

MAke it  a great day all

Well Norm, I am normally a lurker but since you asked "nicely" I will post as well.

Been up since 5:30 am. Got my morning workout in AB Jam from the Turbo Jam series and now enjoying a protein shake.

Heading to work around 8:30 am and have a full day and evening of work events until around 9:30 pm.

Have a great day all!

Good morning. I woke up to my 2 year old having a 103 degree fever. I gave her tylenol and she is not at my SIL. I will call and check on her soon. If fever persists throughout the day, I will have to call the doc.

I will be leaving work a little early today. My 9 year old has his 3rd grade concert this afternoon so I will head to that and then head home with him. Tonight will be a fun filled evening of doing baby laundry, and organizing all the little clothes into his drawers as last night we FINALLY got all the dressers and furniture rearranged.

Thank goodness for Johnny's friend and cold beer in the fridge. He was happy to come help and we thanked him with a home cooked meal and beer! LOL

Hope everyone has a great day. It's supposed to be warm but windy with rain moving in!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Jo,

I'm sure you know this - but tylenol and motrin can be given together.  Motrin every 6 hours tyelnol every 4.  And if you want to be totally anal retentive about it - don't go by just the age chart on the bottle.

Here's the conversions:

Tylenol:  15mg per Kg of child weight.  Take your childs weight in pounds.  Divide that weight by 2.2  That will be your childs weight in kg.  Now multiply that number by 15.  That will give you the total mg strength of tylenol to give every 4-6 hours.  Now, you will have to look at your bottle but I believe children's tylenol (the red stuff, not the purple drops) is 160mg in 1 teaspoon, or 5ml  If you want - call me at 610-969-6264 and I can work it out for you.

Motrin:  5 - 10mg per kg of child weight.  Again - take the pound weight and divide by 2.2  That will be the weight in kg.  Then multiply that number by 5 or 10 (You can use the 5 for fevers under 102 and the 10 for fever above 102, although I am a big believer of using the 10 number for at least the first couple of doses)

Fevers in kids....don't go by just the "number" on the thermometer.  The true "reality" of the situation is how the child is acting.  If they are lying around for extended periods of time not drinking and not acting themselves....then it's cause for alarm especially if it does not improve with the tylenol/motrin combo. (if their mood improves with the meds, it's also ok)  However...if the kid is running and playing...continue to medicate as needed but realize it's "just a number"  I've seen kids looking like crap at 99 degrees and kids playing with anything that moves at 105 degrees.

Don't worry about not eating - fluids are important.  And just like recent post op - things like ice pops, soups, jello, pedialyte etc count as fluids.  If they want ice pops by all means -ice pops it is!

Hope it all goes well and your little one is feeling better in no time!

Pam

I wasn't going to reply, but well, I don't want to be a creepy lurker!

Today has me going to work, then to the gym for some swimming, then I'm going to my Stitch-n-***** knitting group.  I've been having some issues with iron lately, and I do think the iron supplements are kicking in -- I definitely feel like I have more energy, and more like myself again.  I made some chili overnight in my crockpot to take for lunch, so I'll get a good dose of iron-rich red meat too.  Actually, it smells so good that I'm seriously debating having some chili for breakfast!  Crazy.

Let's make this a great day!

Mornin!

Today is another volunteer day at the hospital.  Today I get my floor finished!  Then I hope to start using it for dance.  I am finally getting a little more active.

Well, last night, no one showed up for Support Group so I am going to do a mass flyer thing for Saturday saying it is the kickoff with door prizes and such.  I will contact those who sent in the survey to encourage them to come and bring friends.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Good morning Norm and everyone -- I'm at work - another quiet day with not much going on. Made my own sf vanilla iced coffee this morning - its okay - not as good as Micky D's, tho...but I'm sure its much healthier for me. Also made up a good casserole last night and sliced and bagged it for breakfast for the next few days - lots of good protein in it. Last night was very productive.

Tonight is weight training, then making dinner - hubby will have to find a snack to munch on til I get dinner on the stove - he'll live. If I wait til after dinner I won't get it done. Best meals are the ones I can make up then pop in the oven for an hour and work-out while its baking.

That's about it for me - nothing too exciting...

First, I just have to say I LOVE NORM!!!  You are too funny.  And since I have a computer today and haven't in a while, I will post my boring day since Norm says I have to :)

This morning I have done some laundry as I had ten loads to do between yesterday and today.  And I've made Connor some breakfast.  I'm about to make his lunch and get him ready to send him off to school.

When I get home, it's straight to my office in my house to get some major transcribing done.  I have to get work turned in so I will can get paid!!!  Tonight I will make a quick dinner and then off to my bowling league that I go to on Wednesday nights.  Not worry about next week's meeting, I will pre-bowl and be at the postop meeting with all of my peeps.

Told you my day was going to be boring, but Norm wanted to hear it :)  Have a great Hump Day everyone!!!  And Norm and Mary have a great Wedding Wednesday!!!

Karen
