I am bored at work so I thought I would start roll call.
I am working then heading home to get some sleep. I will be up earlier than I would like but it is for a good reason. I will be having coffee with my friend Kara in the morning. I am looking forward to seeing her.
Then I will run a few errands. Maybe get the stuff I need to make the protein cookies, yum.

I have work tomorrow night and I am continuining to grade papers as they come in. It is weird to me to be grading papers.

Nothing too exciting but I hope it will be a nice day anyway. Hope you all have a nice day as well.

Morning Nicole and Pa!

I didn't realize you were teaching?  What type of class?

Well I'm here in jersey.  I wrote my schedule all down nice and neat (and right I might add) and then promptly looked at LAST weeks schedule.  So I went to LVH tonight at 7p only to be told I wasn't on the schedule...and told I was working Wed and Thurs.  Now I was CONVINCED they were wrong because I was CONVINCED I was working in NJ Tue/Wed.  So I called home had hubby look at the calendar again for me - and sure as hell...jersey Monday AND Tuesday and LVH Wednesday AND Thursday...just like LVH said.  This is my last week of all this....and then I have 8 off in a row and it's obvious I need it considering I've screwed up or didn't know my schedule twice now.

The bright side of all that is that I stopped, picked up a pizza on the way from LVH to my house...and got to see hubby for a few hours before I had to leave again.

I have nothing on tap for today...will probably go online at my parents house for an hour or two...and then go to bed for the rest of the day and sleep until my hearts content.   One good thing about being at my parents house....no responsibility!  LOL

Have a WONDERFUL day all!

Pam

Yesterday was a good ay.  I volunteered at the hospital.  I am going to try the cancer center Friday and see how that goes.

Today I was going up to Olean to get some earring mounts put into a ring.  I may forego that and paint trim instead. I will get my floor done tomorrow!!  So, I need to get the trim done.

I have my first Support Group Meeting tonight.  I hope we have a good turnout.   I am a little nervous.  I'm not sure how long to make it, what to talk about other than the Q and A, activity and such.  We will have one on Saturday that will be the same.  We need to find out who is out there and what their needs are.

That's about all I will do today, me thinks.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Good Morning Nicole, PA,

Today I will be tweaking my resume and seeing where I can send it, which is not too many places.

As some may know by my Facebook post of yesterday, I got hit with a very grim reality yesterday when I applied for unemployment, which needs to be applied for in the state in which you work, and found out that New York State has not raised their rates in 8 years, so while it is considered one of the most expensive places to live, their rate of unemployment benefit lags behind most other states, most notably the state of NJ where I reside, which pays $584 per week as opposed to $405 per week in NY, this amounts to roughly $600 per month less and after paying my portion of COBRA and let's not forget federal income tax, I won't even be able to make my mortgage payment, never mind, car, utilities, car insurance, 2nd mortgage, food, hey I don't need to eat that much, right?  What the *!*!

The bottom line right now is that while I won't be too picky about what job to take, I need a job that is going to give me at least $2,600 a month just to meet my monthly living expenses.  To translate that in to salary, I brought home that amount of money in 1995, making $38,000 and the job I just lost, well I made almost double that, but that was and now is the past.

Well let's see what happens between now and mid-May when my severance pay is over.

I guess I should look at the fact that I am healthy and able bodied, so that is one thing I got going for me today!

Wishing you all a great day, even if I'm not exactly feeling it today, this too shall pass, just hope it's quickly . . .

Hugs, Laureen

Happy Tuesday..

Today has me taking DD to the bus stop for school.  After that, I will come home and relax a bit and pack a bit and relax some more.  Need to get ready to think about going back to work probably next week.  I was going to try to go to LVH today, but nobody seems to be able to help me with Amberstarr's last name.  So, I guess I won't be able to go see her.

DD has 1/2 day of school, so when she gets home, I need to take her to the pediatrician to talk about her meds and to the psychologist for a follow up.  Then, I think we are going to get her hair washed and cut and a texturizer put in it.  After that, there is nothing on the schedule.  I hope to be able to come home and rest/pack/rest again.  I am going to try desperately to get into the apartment close to the April 1 date that I start paying rent.

After that it will be home to make dinner and clean. I have alot of rearranging yet to do to get Jantzen's room ready and work on it a little each night but am getting nervous that it isn't done yet!

Hopefully I will get to bed eary tonight. I have been up till 11 most nights lately and that isn't enough sleep for me when I have to get up at 4:30am!

Have a great day!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Good morning everybody - quiet morning so far for me. Sipping on my sf van ice coffee from Micky D's figuring out what I will do with my day. Have some work sitting on my desk to take care of this morning - not sure what else the day will bring.

Back is achey this morning - took some tylenol for that - not sure if I slept funny or what. Took a long walk with the dog last night - so much for warm weather - it was windy and cold again. Signed hubby and I up for a wine & cheese night at our development - sounds like fun.

Other than that a quiet day...hope everyone has a good one.

Good Morning, PA!
Second day back to work and its gonna be a long one... 16 hours!!! Its ok, I love being a nanny! After yesterday's horrid dump, I'm almost scared to go back to starbucks again. The funniest part about it was when I called, the girl on the phone didn't understand how serious of a situation it was to put non-sf syrup in my coffee...You can read about that experience on the RNY board....geesh.
I'm gonna talk myself into getting on the treadmil today for at least a little while. I've found that Unjury unflavored protein powder helps me get my protein in when I mix it in things. Yesterday I got in around 60, which IMHO is pretty ok for 2 weeks out. 70oz of water...yay me!

So sorry to hear Starbucks did that to you!  I have had this happen at Starbucks too -- fortunately I realized it before it was too late, and now every time I go I order sugar-free, watch them make it, and then ask again "Are you sure this is sugar-free?  I'm allergic to sugar."  And I never go through the drive-thru anymore, because I think they're more careless about it, plus I can't see them make the drink.  I would definitely go to starbucks.com and email them a complaint about it.  They need to know about this, and when I complained they sent me a letter with 4 free drink coupons.

So sorry to hear about your dumping episode and Starbucks, and you were right to call - they have to know and understand how serious it is to not use the sugar free syrups when you request them - it would be even worse for a diabetic! That is always one of my biggest fears because I dump big time on sugar. I know stick pretty close to the sugar free vanilla iced coffees at McDonalds but I make sure I read their little ordering sign so it indicates SUGAR FREE on the order. Now I can tell the difference, tho - someone from work brought me one the other week and after 2 sips I knew it wasn't sugar free so I dumped it out.

Most Starbucks are very good about getting it right - bu****ch out for Dunkin Donuts - they're notorious for getting it WRONG.

Otherwise it sounds like you're doing pretty good?? That's wonderful!
