vit A

OK so I posted this over on the pregnancy board too but I have a question - I am currently trying to conceive and well I got my 2 year post-op blood work results back today and the nutritionist said that my Vitamin A is too high - this can lead to possible birth defects - now we can't have any risks that I can control! Anyone know how I can lower my vitamin A?? The nutritionist is going to call me back tomorrow - I had to call her and read the specs on my vitamins but she was already gone when I got home.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Going to google it now too.

Thanks!

I haven't heard of this. So please, share any info you get. This is interesting. I don't think I have had my Vit A tested for awhile. At least not that I know of.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I hadn't either!! It is one of the normal things that my surgeon tests for I guess. I can't wait until she calls tomorrow! I see the ob/gyn on friday and I will take a copy of the bloodwork to her and ask as well. I'll let you know what I find out though.

lol getting it higher is the easy part! She told me meats, and all things orange - sweet potatoes, oranges, peaches, squash etc.

I'll check out the link now - thanks!

Dr Brader checks em all - I had 9 vials of blood drawn! I thought that I was reading empty after that! lol I have an extra copy of the lab sheet if you want a copy you are welcome to it.

THe results were THREE pages long!

what about doing a liver flush... my family doc told me to drink a hot cup of water with lemon juice in it... I think it was a tbsp of lemon juice... or 2... and drink it first thing in the morning... and then wait about 15 mins and then eat normal breakfast...

And what about cutting out all things orange for a while and re-test just the vit A levels and see what happens...
